Just remember the food you eat doesn’t come from Woolworths or Cole’s it comes from farmers and delivered to the supermarkets on trucks. Most of the equipment, trucks, and tractors run on diesel. Australia isn’t in managed decline any more it’s in spectacular fucking free fall and we as a country voted for it. We deserve every bit of misery bearing down on us. I've started to understand why I love mecha shows so much recently, they always try to do something new. While some shows may have similar plots, when you get to the heart of their stories, you realize how unique and different they are. Majestic Prince starts with a bang and ends with a bang. It's silly, it's fun, and it can feel like it doesn't take itself too seriously, but trust me, it does. It's not perfect, but it's perfect in its own way. I just wish it wasn't so short, because I love Team Rabbits and the entire cast of supporting characters. They all feel so real and alive. It feels kind of unfair that this franchise is supposed to end with this movie. It wasn't a long series, but it was still a lot of fun for me. I'm going to miss this show. I loved it.

Can United States manufacture robots? Matic Robots says "yes." It makes the best floor cleaning robot, that has won many perfect scores from Wired to many others. We love ours. But my trip there to get a tour from AI pioneer Navneet Dalal Navneet Dalal provided some real insights into how hard it is for a hardware company to make hardware in the United States. And how deeply AI is changing consumer electronics products that are going to be in many more homes soon. In this first part (Part II coming tomorrow) we get a look at how long it took for this company to go through prototypes to a shipping product. In the second part, you'll see the scaling hell that it takes to even ship a few thousand robots and the kinds of problems that scaling up a factory brings. Matic is one of my favorite small Silicon Valley companies. It has found what we call "product market fit." I just came back from CES where I saw many of its competitors, and the Matic wins because of not just the product thinking of Mehul and Navneet Dalal but because of their AI leadership. In a way their robot took many lessons from Tesla, from where to put the batteries to its bet on computer vision, which Navneet has been a pioneer in for years, working quietly behind the scenes. It is about to move into a new location that will allow it to grow to meet the demand that now is showing up (the boxes in its lobby show that it's outgrowing its current facilities). In terms of AI, it has aspirations of making a humanoid too, but it is taking a far more measured approach to getting there. By starting on the floor it can not just build world models based on real world data (customers are given a choice whether to allow its data to be used that way. Most customers choose to keep their data on the robot only, for privacy reasons, but if you opt in you can help them improve their models). They are using that data to understand homes. Navneet told me they hit very unusual situations in people's homes already that they couldn't really predict in simulators, like full-wall mirrors that confuse computer vision systems, or pools and water features in people's homes. Having real customers brings a ton of customer feedback about how to further improve the robot, and, as Navneet demonstrates in the second video, forces them to build a manufacturing muscle memory. Getting teams to work together, figuring out how to solve supply chain problems, from Trump's tarriffs, to a new one that showed up over the past couple of weeks. A supplier for its bags (one of the cheaper parts that goes into the robot) changed the glue it used, which caused robots to fail quality tests and the manufacturing line to stop. Reminds me a lot of the hell Elon Musk faced in its Fremont factory when Tesla was first starting to manufacture its Model 3, which almost bankrupted the company. Off the record Mehul and Navneet 🇮🇳 showed me some of the prototypes and plans for its next products that will show up over the next few years. Certainly not as sexy as Tesla, Figure, 1x_tech, and all the Chinese manufacturers are showing off already, but far better thought out for the typical Western home and AI plays a huge role in its future. It is the product that speaks for itself. It's amazing, and is about to get better this year due to AI. It's the first real vision-only robot to be in my home and I bet it won't be the last from this company. Real honor that they invited me over with my Insta360 camera (another company launched in my home, just like Matic was last year). In Part II we go into the factory.

Korea is having a real moment right now. K-pop, K-drama, K-beauty, the food, the fashion. Everyone suddenly wants a piece of it, and I love it! So it baffles me that “cultural appropriation” has become a scapegoat term for people looking to police enjoyment. I’ll never understand why some groups feel the urge to wall off your culture like its members-only. Culture is meant to be shared and enjoyed. It enriches all of us. I want to experience different music, food, and traditions. But the moment someone genuinely enjoys something from another culture, some people scream appropriation. Does anyone care who invented hoop earrings? Ever had Korean tacos? They are 🔥. Pretty sure we didn’t invent the taco. Enjoying something and fusion isn’t theft. Sometimes the remix is better. That’s human nature. So here’s what I mean: a white guy belting Black Pink at the top of his lungs, doesn’t speak a word of Korean, knows every word anyway. That’s not appropriation. I wouldn’t care if it was. That’s honor. OK, maybe not the best voice, but I thought it was cute. Feel free to enjoy my culture, I would love it! ❤️ PS: Even if you don’t, I’m still gonna enjoy yours.

Deep Thesis on Dogstock: First, a story on how novelty and continuity combine to create blue chips: After the $PEPE run up in 2023, many people were hoping to catch "the next PEPE" on ETH. Everyone thought it would be some kind of PEPE related character, but none of those had the same kind of run. The next 1B+ ETH runners ended up being MOG and SPX. You might think they were not related to previous blue chips like PEPE or $SHIB in any way, and that's the novelty factor. Without novelty, a coin will feel like a solved game (derivative or "beta play") and ceiling is drastically lower. But if you look more closely, you will notice continuity. The DNA of MOG is similar to that of PEPE, in the sense that they are both viral culture coins, though MOG has a very different appearance. $SPX is the same, but its continuity is with GME. The DNA of these assets is retail teaming up to win against hedge funds and big tradfi institutions, somehow "one upping" them. But SPX has a totally different appearance compared to $GME. Where am i going with this? Well, such tokens were not "obvious" until much later, and ultimately that's what allowed them to reach such a high ceiling. If you think about it, the same principle applies to every blue chip. $DOGE was everywhere at low marketcap, but everyone faded it because meme coins were not yet "a thing". Many were sidelined on PEPE because it was very early in the bull market, and they weren't "trenching" yet. They faded $BONK because it was on Solana. You could keep going. Even with Fartcoin, many thought that it was "too silly" even for a meme coin and remained sidelined. So where does that leave us? The meme coin market now feels like it has been solved, everything has been tried. Nothing truly has that novelty factor anymore, and if it does, it feels like a random "one off" meme that won't go anywhere. But what if $DSTOCK was the solution to all this? What even is DSTOCK? it's a dog stock, on-chain. Seems a bit confusing right? Until you start to truly get it (reminds you of something?) Let me tell you an anecdote. When roaring kitty (the #1 "meme KOL" of all time) came back, he tried shilling a real-world dog stock (Chewy). It perfectly makes sense when you think about it. People love dogs, and they love stocks, they always go up. Everybody always gets told that they should invest in the stock market. Time in the market beats timing the market, and all that jazz. But. there was a problem. Chewy didn't work out because, well, its mcap is inflated (16B at time of writing) which leaves very little room for upside and even if the stock did go up, management could just print more shares to dilute you. They could also mismanage the company and make it go to 0. Sadly because of these shortcomings, meme stocks only work as a temporary short squeeze play. they have too much baggage. What if we didn't have to deal with any of that and were able to send a meme stock to infinity using a permission-less, decentralized system? This is where the dog stock comes in. The mascot is inspired by Cheems, a dog that everybody knows and rival's Doge in popularity. You could call it the revival of a legendary meme. In 2021, GCR (considered the best crypto trader of all time) made a few tweets mentioning dogstocks. His words were: "You were hustled that this would be a DeFi bull cycle, baited into buying governance tokens with endless unlocks. Retail never understood the collateralized lending ponzis, they just wanted to buy the dog stocks." GCR was right, and a few months after those tweets, Doge and Shib flipped BTC in volume. $DSTOCK combines the biggest meme narrative of all time (GME) with the doge/shib memetics It has the DNA (continuity) of a proven winner, but with the appearance (novelty) of something new that has never been seen before. When roaring kitty (the #1 "meme KOL" of all time) came back, he tried shilling a real-world dog stock (Chewy). It perfectly makes sense when you think about it. People love dogs, and they love stocks, they always go up. Everybody always gets told that they should invest in the stock market. Time in the market beats timing the market, and all that jazz. But. there was a problem. Chewy didn't work out because, well, its mcap is inflated (16B at time of writing) which leaves very little room for upside and even if the stock did go up, management could just print more shares to dilute you. They could also mismanage the company and make it go to 0. Sadly because of these shortcomings, meme stocks only work as a temporary short squeeze play. they have too much baggage. What if we didn't have to deal with any of that and were able to send a meme stock to infinity using a permission-less, decentralized system? This is where the dog stock comes in. The mascot is inspired by Cheems, a dog that everybody knows and rival's Doge in popularity. You could call it the revival of a legendary meme. In 2021, GCR (considered the best crypto trader of all time) made a few tweets mentioning dogstocks. His words were: "You were hustled that this would be a DeFi bull cycle, baited into buying governance tokens with endless unlocks. Retail never understood the collateralized lending ponzis, they just wanted to buy the dog stocks." GCR was right, and a few months after those tweets, Doge and Shib flipped BTC in volume. $DSTOCK combines the biggest meme narrative of all time (GME) with the doge/shib memetics It has the DNA (continuity) of a proven winner, but with the appearance (novelty) of something new that has never been seen before. Here's more analysis on the Apple and Google deal to make a new kind of Siri, after I had a cup of coffee. This is what OpenAI is doing: they're making a variety of new products and going after Apple. Apple didn't want to give OpenAI any more data to help a potential new competitor. The real problem for this OpenAI effort is that we're about to move to glasses. People don't believe me that we're about to move to glasses, but you should, because I just got back from CES and there was a ton of glasses there. For OpenAI to really get somewhere, they need to add a camera to an earphone. While I don't see that in this latest report, I won't be shocked to see a camera show up somewhere eventually. It is cameras that add understanding of the real world, which can lead to many new features that Apple's current AirPods Pro can't match. I believe Apple is developing such a product to go with their glasses, which makes a lot of sense. Also, Google's AI models are better at multimodality; this means they can use cameras in a much better way than even OpenAI's models can. This is why in Silicon Valley robotics companies, a lot of them use Google Gemini: because robots need multimodality. Apple's glasses, which are expected in 2027, have some significant advantages over the others. First, they have eye sensors in them, so it knows where the user is looking. It also can tell what the user is touching, holding, or gesturing towards. This new capability will give Siri a significant parlor trick: it will let Siri answer questions that no other search engine has been able to answer before. But the real reason I'm still bullish on Apple's glasses isn't technology—it's content. Apple has NBA rights and Formula One (among others) and a really great studio system, which has produced one of the biggest hits of the last six months. Pluribus. Apple also, because of its privacy stance, has a significant lead in consumer trust. Because of its retail stores, it also has a significant lead in the ability to: 1. Show people glasses 2. Get them fit properly 3. Get people trained On Saturday, I went to the main Apple store in Cupertino and watched one of the classes that they teach every few hours in an Apple store. The store was packed with people watching the class on a huge screen in the middle of the store. Apple has dramatically changed retail because of its stores, which gives it the most trusted brand in the business and gives it distribution to most of the world's richest people. While OpenAI has almost a billion users, it is unclear whether those users will switch ecosystems from Apple to OpenAI. Even if OpenAI's AI and devices can do a few more things, I'm not so sure anybody's going to care when Apple has very capable headphones that match up with their iPhones and has the world's richest people addicted to the Apple ecosystem (me included). Here is one of the secret Chinese suites at CES, which makes a series of glasses to sell to other brands. This gives you a sense of how fast the glasses world is moving. AI needs to not just tell you what it's seeing, but it needs to show you things to really make the solution complete. Also, Apple usually picks a much better design than anyone else. Because it's such a luxury brand, it can charge more than anybody else and be more profitable. I don't see anyone else being able to put together the whole solution the way Apple can. Therefore, I am still very bullish on Apple making a dramatic announcement about glasses sometime in the next 24 months. At CES, though, it's clear that many manufacturers will try. XREAL 👓 just got $100 million of funding to continue its glasses development, and officials of the company told me it will release its Android XR based glasses later this year. Short version: AI is coming to wearables in a big way, and Apple will do what it always does: come in late to the market and redefine it when it enters. It still has all the pieces to put together the puzzle, even though it doesn't have its own LLM so had to do a deal with Google for that. Yeah, others will be earlier to the market, and will win some buyers because of that, but buyers like me know that and will be happy to put down our other ones to buy Apple because of its advantages. With one big caveat: Apple has to deliver an amazing pair of glasses, and maybe a headphone with a camera, to keep the competition from taking its lunch. Also, behind the scenes there is a big patent battle brewing. Apple has quite a few, but I talked with Ann Greenberg at CES, who started Gracenote. She says she has several patents that will enable a large company to force others to license their technology and that she's already in final stages of selling those patents to a big company. All the big companies have patent portfolios they can use against each other, and particularly smaller, newer, competitors. Microsoft alone has dozens of patents it bought to start off its Hololens efforts, which it gave up on, but Microsoft still has almost 1,000 lawyers who would love to go after other companies for licensing deals. Plus, Google-funded Magic Leap has about 1,000 patents, so it'll be interesting to see if anyone buys the remnants of that company. The question is: can anyone disrupt Apple? Especially OpenAI?
