It’s this sort of thing I’ve (anecdotally) heard

I think these guys are simply gay

This is true feminism which you can only find in SF. These ladies will have to hustle up.

I almost don't believe this

It’s absolutely a real phenomenon

As a general rule, if something is a certain way in SF then it's the exact opposite everywhere else because SF is bizarro world. So this actually proves the point of people claiming that it doesn't matter in the normal world

I've anecdotally heard of this. phenom among striver/status obsessed PMC/UMC on both sides. It's absolutely machiavellian. They then get shocked their marriages end up as partnerships w/little warmth.

If you're a man and you think this way, you're gay.

He needs to date a dude

Sometimes I feel like this example and the opposite extreme (“My dick can’t get hard if a woman makes a $5 dollars more than me”) says more about men’s sexual dysfunctionality than anything else. I think they are suffering from low T and don’t realize it.

When nothing else feeds your identity but career, this is important. Kind of sad. But that's way you know you're an elite.

I don’t think all elites are this way, but there’s a weird stratification happening that I don’t think was always this bad and intense.

This seems to go beyond "they should be college educated and sophisticated." The entirety of such is hardly found in one very specific career.

This guy and the guy who just wants to marry a cute Applebees waitress with no tattoos or student loans are just two very different guys looking for two different women… both of whom may be imaginary or at least uncommon…

Yes, agreed, but there is some weird internet meme that’s convinced a bunch of people that what rich men really want is the Applebee’s waitress, when the reality is more like this reel.

But what’s missing from both versions of ‘checklist dating’ is a sense of romance, Eros, falling in love. It’s sad to me

These dorks in SF are going full autist on dates meanwhile I’m 6’5” in NYC getting screamed at by random women while I walk my dog. Wild world.

Meh, fake rage bait. Back in the real world, the manager guy would look at which college the girl graduated from, her major, her family background, her git contributions, the toolchain she uses. Unless he is planning to launch his own startup and looking for cofounder.

If you have a “high status” job or are relatively successful, there is no shot you would be in a public relationship with a waitress, hair dresser, etc. The video is on the extreme end of things, but anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is not a serious person.

Most tech dudes aren't EMs at Meta. No one forced her to choose the highly successful man over less ambitious guys.

There's a low-T joke in here somewhere

I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its species.

Jesus Christ what a bunch of eunuchs
