It’s time for the transformation to begin, and it’s a transformation I’m super excited for. There will be no neighborhood quite like the West Bottoms anywhere in the Midwest. The next chapter for this historic neighborhood starts today.

When the Weld Building came down in May, I knew this massive project would happen. Now we get to see it come to life. The new sidewalks will be a massive enhancement by themselves as the area is missing a ton of them and the ones that do exist are poor.

This project looks absolutely incredible! Love the adaptive reuse, common space elements, and the old, beautiful bones that those new apts are going into! Great work

SomeraRoad certainly has a good eye for this stuff. A

much work needs to be done on the roadway network down there. it's confusing to drive around, and there are almost no public transportation or bicycle connections

Absolutely. I think now is a good time to reimagine Beardsley Road to build a real sidewalk and protected bike lane, reimagine Lower 12th Street, upper 12th Street, and the Forrester Bridge to make it better to get around on foot or bike. Signage will be key for way finding.

It's BEAUTIFUL

With our @Parallel42LLC office 1 block away I can't wait for this to come alive. Taking clients for a short stroll to a nice business lunch would be amazing vs driving into downtown!

This by far is my new favorite chap to follow on X. Thanks for sharing the continuous updates!

Exciting for sure - but I’d call it a continuation of a very slow transformation for ALL of the West Bottoms. My bias? My brother designed The Yards.✌️ Good to see things continuing!

Full video is a little over 5 minutes and tells a nice story.
