While I was in Manchester last week, I did the same thing I did in London today in between work meetings. The relatively young-in-service officers (who all look so young, or it's me getting older), are a cohort I have huge respect for. Here is a fact. Policing is not for everyone and many that apply to join do not get to the attestation stage. Some that do, drop out thereafter or do not pass. So, those that get through the training and get on our streets deserve encouragement, mentoring, and support - not ridicule. We all used to be new at something once. It was a real honour to meet those new Metropolitan Police officers as I did those from Greater Manchester Police officers, chat with, and thank them for their work. To those of you; young and not so young in service 😀 - thank you for all that you do to keep us safe all year round. Chin up. 💙

I asked him why and his response was that he’d been busy and he wasn’t in her area (he’s in the suburbs and met her when he drove into the city). It wasn’t that he didn’t like this girl. He REALLY liked her! He just… never followed up… I see this kind of thing often. Guy meets a few girls, gets their numbers, likes them, doesn’t follow up. Or he follows up once or twice, the girl responds fine each time, then he just lets it drop off. Look: you do not need to send her 20 text messages to get a date with her. With most girls, if they are into you, you can send them 2 or 3 texts then arrange the meet. You do not need to make this complicated. When you get their number, you send an icebreaker: “Great to make a new friend! — [YOUR NAME]” or “Hey [HER NAME], it’s [YOUR NAME]! Save my number!” You put YOUR NAME in that icebreaker text in case she forgot it (people are bad with names and it’s too awkward for most girls to be like “Hey, sorry… what was your name again?” Just write it in your text and she doesn’t have to do that). Then, THE NEXT DAY or at most 2 days later, you send your ask-out text. Have the four parts in there: 1️⃣ Greeting with her name 2️⃣ Consideration for her 3️⃣ Information about you 4️⃣ Check her schedule e.g. “Hey Isabelle! [1️⃣] Hope the dental appointment went well and you still have all your teeth. [2️⃣] I actually spent all day at the beach on Sunday and turned a bright shade of red (whoops). [3️⃣] Anyway, let me know your schedule this week for that bite or drink. [4️⃣]” You have enough in that text that she has stuff to chew on, and you are often going to get a reply that tells you when she is free to meet. After that, you just pick a time, tell her the place, and now you can see her again, IN-PERSON. No need for two weeks of texting. No need for NOT texting her at all and just letting it ghost. There is no need to overcomplicate things, and you also do not want to PROCRASTINATE. Just fire off the right texts for her, set up the date, and now you can spend time with her again in-person instead of letting that connection die on the vine.

“What did you think of Lando being booed at race because people and I've seen it online as well say he doesn't deserve the title because McLaren favored him over his teammate. Do you think that's total nonsense?” Jacques Villeneuve: “That's a little bit ridiculous. When there was some booing in some races, that was embarrassing. You should never boo a driver that's clean, doesn't do anything dirty, on track is respectful, and on top of it is super fast. What's wrong with people? That was embarrassing. And, had it been that Piastri was a second a lap faster than him and somehow Lando was winning because a lot of things were happening, his car breaking down every time, then you could start thinking, okay, that's really not cool. That's not fair. But that wasn't the case. And in the second half, Norris has been faster right at the beginning as well, last year as well. So there's this whole middle of the season where Piastri was driving a lot better than Norris and was getting the points. Norris had an engine blowing up, not Piastri. And so those fans, they don't look at that either. You have to look at the whole picture, at the whole season. And suddenly if your favorite is starting to go backwards, you just got to bite the bullet and accept it. Your favorite is just going backwards. That doesn't mean that the other one is treated better or the other one is undeserving just because the one you're a fan of is not winning right now. That’s really wrong. If you're a fan of the sport, then you have to be a fan of the sport and understand when your driver is maybe not cutting it at this point in time, even though he was before and he will in the future again. It's all a question of timing. But that's the price we have to pay now with social media and how big F1 has become. It's very passionate. The people are passionate and once, you know, fans come from fanatism, you stop thinking, when you get in that mindset and it happens to all of us. You want something so much that you get attached and you cannot - it's hard to start seeing reality. So you will try to mold the reality to your thought process and if your champion is not winning then it cannot be his fault. It has to be something from the outside. It has to be the team destroying his chance or not favoring and so on and so on and so on. But there's nothing concrete behind those comments. It's pure fandom and it'll always be like this. And ultimately it's not a bad thing. You know drivers at that - sportsman at that level have to grow a thick skin. If not, you don't deserve to be there. You just have to have a thick skin because they're all very happy to get the compliments. They love it when it's just positive, but it gets balanced out with negatives and you need to be able to take and accept the negatives as well. It goes both ways. You cannot have the good. You just have to be a thick skin and know that it's part and parcels of what's going on. And in one month, it will be forgotten and maybe everything will change and it be the other driver that suddenly will be criticized and so on. So, it's just that's just the way it is.”

People of Twitter I need your help. This is Beepo, my foster cat. Beepo was bitten as a small cat and was found with her back legs to not working. This has made her unable to pee by herself, and because of that she's been at Austin Pets Alive! for far too long. She is the SWEETEST, most loving cat I've ever seen. She just wants a warm place to live and a happy family. I would LOVE to adopt Beepo. But sadly due to her condition she needs to be "peed" 3 times a day and I travel too much to help her. I'm desperate at this point to look for someone for her. I've been trying using my twitch stream but unfortunately there's been a few nibbles but no bites. When the time came there were other students that walked the stage, holding their child or sibling, and when I saw that as her mother, I went towards My Daughter and gave her her child and she too walk the stage with her daughter with glee so aside from dumb stealing money from her and we are talking over $2000 there was also a ceremony prior to this graduation. I had My Daughter not called to find out if she was on the list. My Daughter would have attended along with her family and her name would have never gotten called. They had her go through different teachers just to be able to get the OK to attend her own ceremony. You guys have no idea what this School has put My Daughter through. They need to be audited and they need to be shut down immediately. This is a huge honor, one I deeply cherish and appreciate, especially coming from such a reputable organization. As if that wasn’t enough to make the day unforgettable, I was pleasantly surprised when Her Majesty, Olori Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi @hrmoloritemitope graced us with her presence despite her demanding schedule. Even more humbling was hearing her share how Oversabi Aunty inspired her to reevaluate how she relates with her children. Oversabi Aunty is more than just a film, it is a wake-up call for families, especially mothers, to realize that there is more to raising a child than shouting or reacting dramatically. Thank you to everyone who showed up today, sent kind words, and to those who are genuinely happy to see the efforts of a young woman being recognized and celebrated.
