It’s unfortunate the Supreme Court has stayed the UGC guidelines. Everybody aspires for a casteless society, but caste based discrimination is the stark reality. BJP stands thoroughly exposed. They are a party only for the upper caste Hindus. They don’t care about oppressed hindus.

The very first basic flaw that I see is in the definition that has been written for caste-based discrimination. In the new clause that has been added, they have mentioned SCs, STs, and OBCs as victims. But a general-caste boy or girl can also be a victim. So the biggest problem I see in it is this: Alokit Tripathi, PHD Student from DU ( General) This is an uncalled-for regulation that the UGC has issued. I don’t understand why, despite the existing guidelines—known as the SEDGs guidelines—for providing equitable opportunities to socioeconomically disadvantaged groups, there is a need for a new regulation: Chandra Bhushan Sharma, Educationist #Newstrack Marya Shakil

"As long as there is social discrimination, reservation will exist" - Mohan Bhagwat. But social discrimination has already ended in our current society. Only poor people are facing discrimination. Never seen any Dalit govt officer getting discriminated on caste basis. The main cause of social discrimination is poverty, not caste. But still reservation exists on caste basis.
