“I don’t subscribe to that type of Oyinbo life” I crode😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Gbam!

Guyyy this is so disrespectful fr Tony as how???

They say na organization policy

Which organization be that abeg?

Common sense mehn!! Call him Mr Tony first

Company policy na

For this kind traditional man😭😂

@Wakaholic_nurse She's not wrong.. It's a company policy. TOE might just not like it.

@Wakaholic_nurse Company policy, agreed but there’s something they call “omoluabi” right🌚 She could have just said Sir

Good morning Tony keh😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

All of us must chop this rage bait 😂

The fact that she repeated herself is crazy😭😭

Like she’s just naturally uncultured. Like as howwwwww

Maybe she is colour blind. She probably thought he is white😭😭😭

Second hand embarrassment

A child that they did not train at home, they will train her outside

😭 Make she just from there dey go the nearest First Bank branch.

This one no get formal education?

They said there’s nothing wrong with it o

E first laugh. For him life, him never see this kind audacity!😭

I don’t blame her at all 🤣😂. I blame all these organisations, “woke” HR policies and workplace ethics that keep preaching about addressing everyone in the office on a first-name basis. That was how, when I resumed at a place of work about three years ago, the Group Head told me and everyone else to address her by her first name. 😂😂 Emi keh… Lailai! 😂 I refused. I would always call her “Ma” or “Ma’am”. Even if I had to mention her name, I would still add “Ma” to it. 😂 She complained. She laughed. She complained again. Eventually, she just gave up. 😂😂😂 Because honestly, no matter how much we preach about calling everyone by their first name, there will always be levels and hierarchy in the workplace. Respect and familiarity are not the same thing. Some things, you just can’t wipe out. Lailai! 🤭🤭🤭

Wow. The man no believe his ears 😳 She still repeat am.

Would his response be the same if she was white or from a different race?

Double Standards? ❌❌❌ This is the same Tony in an interview with Chisom Obi-Okoye in Stanford university. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Full interview is on Youtube.

⏰️ Let's unpack, shall we? 🧵 1. The woman's mistake was not really the word "Tony". The problem wasn't that "Tony" is intrinsically disrespectful. The problem was context. This was a trainee speaking to the chairman of the organisation, in a formal setting, apparently without having established that level of familiarity. That is a professional judgement error. But it is precisely that: a judgement error, not necessarily a character defect. And that distinction matters.

She think say na sugar daddy

Very funny 😆 This is foolishness at its peak. Her question won’t mean anything to anybody in that hall. And she might probably be loosing some opportunities too in the future. Wokeness culture is foolishness at its peak.

@____10Jr This babe was wrong . It’s not even about being woke, it’s about learning how to address people in a formal setting. Unless they tell you to go by first name basis, you have to add the titles. Common!

Omo, it would have been better to hear ‘’Ma pemi ni Uncle. Your uncle dey for your village’’ than this one o.

Lmao 🤣 she is done for

It’s very very normal to call people by first name basis in the corporate world. In AccessBank if you even dare call a Gm “sir,” Mr” or madam you will be cautioned. It’s first name basis. Even GTB Has nothing to do with Respect or not.. Except UBA doesn’t practice that, then Mr Tony is being hypocritical.. And if this was a random setting outside or a corporate gathering e.g a Traditional marriage or party then she can call him all of the Elderly greetings.. So she’s not totally wrong…Just Unnecessary embarrassment shah..

@iamtoppyjay I won’t take the question again

She’s not wise at all, the first sigh and name repeated by Mr Tony was to correct her but she’s daft to comprehend.

African men and respect 😂

This how you should greet TOE.

@myHoodies_onYou Haaaaaa Good morning Tony ke? Haaaaa.

People are really different sha. 😂 No matter where I get to in life, even if I am old enough to be your grandma, please call me Roseline. I personally don’t like being called “Aunty” or “Sister.” Just call me by my name. It just shows that there is no universal rule for these things. What feels respectful to one person may feel unnecessary to another. Study people, understand how they prefer to be addressed, and act accordingly. Of course, if you are old enough to be my grandma, I will add “Ma” and all the conventional markers of respect. I may very well be in the minority of people who don’t care about these things, though.

She’s not Rude. She’s a corporate babe and we practice First name basis regardless of the Age. She probably is used to it and forgot the settings( if this is a non corporate gathering).. First name basis is very much encouraged in the corporate world. Closes the Age gap mentality , fosters accessibility and allows you express yourself without fear etc

“Good morning Tony” lol If she’s not a Nepo baby then we must ask her wetin she chop full. Good morning Tony in the mouth of Pikin wey grow up for iju ishaga

Even if he asked me to address him as Tony, the name too heavy for mouth I fit do mistake call am Daddy uncle Tony😂.

Tony as how, you think say here na Hollywood?? My friend respect yourself jor

She could have just said Good morning sir 🤦🏾♂️.

If you are properly trained and well brought up, calling a 60+ year old man by his first name won’t come naturally to you, company policy or not.

Tony as per dem gather dey 😂😂

@mannylams This is very rude She bin wan rage bait am??

She should be glad to have had this learning experience at this stage of her career.

It's better to learn good manners before your bad habits catch up with you publicly.
