In my opinion two of the best cloud storage services are @ProtonDrive and @Sync Both are E2EE, private and have generous amounts of free storage. Both are rich in features and it's hard to choose the best between them.

This is why one should always self-host: Pfsense, Proxmox, Nextcloud, LUKS, Veracrypt, ZFS. Only open source, but preferably GPLv3. Never trust anything offered "as a service". When something is free, YOU become the product. I don't trust ANYONE with my files.

@googledrive and Microsoft @onedrive are definitely back-up storage providers to ignore. Anything Google related you have to assume they will use your data. They just cannot be trusted. We use @ProtonDrive which does a fantastic job.
