I got to the end of the new challenge mode in Zombies, and I've gotta say... absolutely one of the worst boss fights I've ever seen in a video game You take 30-45 minutes to get to the fight, where you are immediately frozen. From there, you take on the EE boss in his final stage, but you can't damage him without getting presents on the map So you need to somehow: light all 4 fires, shoot the snowmen, kill zombies with cyrofreeze, and get lucky with weapon drops & PaP drops... all while moving at a snail's pace with the boss throwing you around and filling the arena with giant death piles Even if you do somehow get the fires lit and somehow get decent weapons, you then have to widdle down the big frozen bullet sponge I just seen Dalek and his friends kill it and it took 30 minutes of them tickling it to death🤣 absolutely nobody beat this in playtesting, if they tested it at all Almost no one has videos of the fight bc no one can beat it, or want to bother trying Just terrible

It has been about 45 days since I was laid off at my 6 figure gamedev/engineering job. Here's what I've accomplished since going full time indie gamedev. - Happiness is at all time highs.. The creative excitement I've felt everyday has been amazing! For about 15 days I kind of dabbled around different areas to figure out what I wanted to work on and sink myself into. - I dabbled with VFX authoring in Three.js - I built the basis of an MMO engine in Rust Language and rendered it in Three.js I then decided I wanted to focus on something realistic and get a game out the door that could turn me from wanting to be a full time indie gamedev, to actually doing it, because realistically none of those projects are going to make me a living. I settled on building a Roblox game because I felt I like I could make something pretty unique and cool with a built in userbase. I chose roblox because it has a good platform of discovery for new games, which I think is pretty crucial for indie devs. - I then ported Plume my threejs library for Niagra like VFX to Roblox. - completed the full gameloop for my roblox game. What's featured in the video - Several menu types for kind of figuring out the direction and some placeholder menus - Cross server guilds/parties/queing - Itemization - Loot Tables - Inventory - Character Equipment - Item Upgrading/Leveling - Some interaction polishing - 1 Completed class with actions, unique boss drops, vfx/sfx - Boss State Machines / Encounter Systems - 1 Boss encounter - Everything is server authorative to prevent cheating. - Sound system Over the next 45 days my focus is on finish the last of the systems that will make up the game(solo quest/mission(story) content, monster codex, move raid board/social from the isolated menu you see in the video to the newer full screen menus, leaderboards. Once those systems are complete it will be time to then focus on just creating content so hopefully a few of you out there will come join and play! Back in the day, I had much fun reloading Operation Flashpoint over & over again to try to get all the intros on each island. Hopefully it will happen to you too in Task Force Admiral! These cannot be looped randomly just yet, but we have finished implementing the menu architecture, and along with it the ability to play any MP4 file in the background. We'll try to have a good selection of these to set the mood. As for the menu itself, we went for a more sober pick for our font finally, compared to our prototypes from last year, if some of you remember. It is all very much work in progress, as always, so menu entries might differ from the final product (and will differ in the case of the debug command, obviously!). I am sure you'll be happy to customize it the way you like it! Music & sound are played directly from the file, so feel free to put whatever you like in there. Beware these are just small tests, some using very old footage - you know the game has been made cuter since then. If you don't, don't forget to check out the latest CC videos on Youtube :) #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
