I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 this way for a long time, and it's an absolute blast. Larian, I genuinely love you and your games. But I think it's time to seriously reconsider what players have been asking for. The popularity of the WASD movement and Native Camera Tweaks... show more

What bothers me the most about gamers on socials is that y'all always say "so many of us" and shit like that as if you're speaking officially on behalf of the population Just say "I personally don't like top down, I want over the shoulder. Me"

Reading comprehension really is dying. I never said "everyone wants this." I said there's clear demand, which is exactly why some of the most popular BG3 mods are WASD Movement and Native Camera Tweaks. There's a difference between "I'm speaking for everyone" and "a significant number of players clearly want this." Try not to confuse the two.

i think letting players choose which camera they prefer makes it hard to design the world so it works with both. one should never "listen to fans" their way out of design philosophies and artistic intent. pandering to people's preferences can make games worse

I agree that developers shouldn't abandon their design philosophy just because a vocal group asks for it. But that's not what's being discussed here. Baldur's Gate 3 already supports analog movement and a much closer camera on consoles. Mods like WASD Movement and Native Camera Tweaks have also shown that many players enjoy that playstyle without changing the game's core mechanics. No one is asking Larian to redesign the world or compromise their artistic vision. The game would still be a turn-based CRPG with the same level design, combat, quests, and systems. This is simply about giving players an optional way to navigate and experience that world. Player choice isn't the same as design by committee.

It's funny how some of you keep pretending optional features somehow erase the game's identity. No one's asking Larian to remove click-to-move, force a third-person camera, or replace turn-based combat. We're asking for optional WASD movement and camera controls features that players can enable or ignore. If your preferred way to play remains completely unchanged, why are you so threatened by someone else having another option? Calling every third-person game "just another Witcher clone" is an incredibly shallow argument. Camera controls don't define a game's genre its mechanics, systems, and design philosophy do. Baldur's Gate 3 would still be a turn-based CRPG built on D&D rules, regardless of whether I move with WASD or click the ground. More player choice doesn't take anything away from you. It just gives more people another way to enjoy the same game.

Me when I want my CRPG to not play like a CRPG

this ain't witcher blud

This will just take away the unique concept and turn it into another slop 3Cs experience. Please no

Combat :)

I think this could only work on PC because of how limited the consoles are. I can't speak for the PS5 but the Xbox Series X gets a bit laggy when you arrive in the city and there are so many moving parts This just means I need to upgrade my PC and buy BG3 again Worth it tho

That's exactly why it should be optional. BG3 already has a limited third-person camera and analog movement on consoles, so the concept isn't new to Larian. PC players simply want a more refined version of that experience, similar to what mods like WASD Movement and Native Camera Tweaks have already demonstrated. If there are performance or technical limitations on consoles, that's perfectly understandable. But those limitations shouldn't prevent PC from having the option, especially when the demand is clearly there.

Demand is definitely there I've finished BG3 three times already and i know what to expect but this would feel almost like a different experience Hell, I'd even pay for this feature from Larian

I think we first need to see how the new game even looks or plays. a free camera like this requires a lot of work on the environment. they designed bg3 environment to work with a free camera but we dont know about divinity (if its bigger thats also more work)

I agree that we haven't seen enough of the new Divinity to judge the technical side. My issue isn't that it must be included no matter what. It's that Larian already seemed to dismiss the idea entirely. Considering how many players have embraced WASD movement and free camera in BG3, I think it's worth exploring if it can be done, rather than rejecting it before we've even seen what's possible.

Just play on console lol. It has native 3d person camera ind stick movement. Once again PC players need to invent the wheel 🤣

Yeah they need to consider adding a non turn based combat mode

That's an impressive level of missing the point. I'm asking for optional movement and camera controls basic QoL features that players can enable or ignore. You're talking about replacing the core combat system. Those aren't even in the same universe. Maybe try reading the post before replying to it.

Would make the game so much better though

That's a completely different discussion. Larian built its reputation by mastering turn-based CRPGs. They spent years refining that formula, and Baldur's Gate 3 is the result of decades of experience. Why would they abandon the very design philosophy that made them one of the most respected studios in the genre? Optional QoL features like WASD movement or better camera controls don't change the game's identity. Replacing turn-based combat absolutely does. Those are not comparable.

Another game like dragon age origins would be highly appreciated

I pray @larianstudios hears you 🙏

@larianstudios We can only hope 🤍

oyun TPS olmuş. Artık oynayabilirim aşsldlkqwe

Any link to the mods, please?

Ekibe bak akşam baloya yetişecekler 😅

mevzuya gidiyoduk shshdhd

I HIGHLY AGREE WITH YOU. DEFINITELY WOULD MAKE IT SO MUCH BETTER

If optional WASD movement is enough to threaten the CRPG genre, then the genre's identity probably wasn't very strong to begin with.

Ahagsgsgsgsgshs hit olduk ama linç yedik trade offer gibi oldu

oh gosh please larian no, there are thousands of third person games and you want them to change one of the few different ones, dragon age has taught you nothing

Fuck off tourist trash.

larian are living in the past with their isometric turn-based mess. baldur's gate 1-2 had amazing real time combat and neverwinter nights and dragon age origins added third person, decades ago.
