I've been playing Silent Hill F this week, because nothing distracts from a stressful war in the homeland like a horror game (sarcasm). So far it's really good. Not on the level of SH2 yet, but still really creepy, beautiful and moody. The music by Akira Yamaoka is FANTASTIC.... I don't know how Japan does it, but they capture atmosphere like nobody else. Even the title menu seems to change every time I enter it, getting more eerie as the game continues. As far as the story goes, it seems very symbolic of how life as a young girl in a rural village is. I think people from many countries can relate. The graphics are insanely good and realistic. Some of the shots look like real video footage. Now I need to buy Ramune, because this game has given me all sorts of cravings. My favourite flavour is the Lychee one.show more

POE II is sick. I've had a fun time playing it, but I don't think it's really tuned for hardcore right now. Many of the POE pros warned me that it wasn't going to be, but we went as far as we could. It feels a LOT like ruthless from POE, which is not necessarily a good thing, but it's probably better off like this as they pump things up in the future. More HC Rogue in wow today, we just hit a huge power spike and going to run some big dungeons today.

My review of GOALS. At first, the dribbling felt a bit unusual and not quite as responsive as I expected. But the more I played, the more it started to click as I got used to the skill mechanics. By the end, I was scoring some really nice goals, so I can see it getting even better with more game time and improved squad. I really like the defending. Player switching feels great, and I think they've found a good balance with the double man press. It helps when needed but you still have to be active with the player you're controlling W! I also felt like opponents got punished for mistakes. At no point did it feel like the AI was automatically doing all the defending or suffocating the player.. W! I think the anti-possession mechanic to stop time-wasting is a little overkill and imo, a game like this doesn't really need it. The actual in game graphics could be a little better but the menus, concept art, and overall aesthetic are really clean. I love the look of it. The idea of building a 1 of 1 personalised club and having cards that can grow their overall rating is a really cool direction and I can definitely see it working well. There's still room for improvement but it's got a solid foundation to build on. Would I play it again? absolutely.

Something I am curious about and I wanted to see if the community is feeling the same way that I am. Does it feel like your ammo does nothing towards chest shots? Since there is no wipes on Escape From Tarkov anymore it feels like Ammo has become not as good and Its because everyone is running T5 and T6 plates I guess? Its not impossible to get high tier ammo but its not easy either. It feels like shooting someone in the chest just doesn't matter anymore with the ammo that you can get from traders and from crafting. So you need to headshot people instead of shooting for chest because chest shots unless you have the best ammo just isn't worth it because people take no damage from certain shots because of how the armor is done right now. I don't really know how to fix it this unless they went back to the old armor system? It just feels like things are weird right now and I wanted to make a post and see how everyone else in the community thought about it. Here is a video of me getting shot by the BTR and my armor tanked the entire round and did 0 damage to my chest.

I feel like an issue with Chaos and why so many people are now misunderstanding it and trying to claim its not as bad as it seems, or it can even be good is that they've often failed to really explore the horror of Chaos and the warp. Like sure Chaos does bad things and is often gory or cruel but so are most factions. They don't really seem to sell the cosmic horror of it all, most of the time it's just Khorne smashing people with axes and Tzeentch magic fireballs. Chaos needs a true cosmic horror story more like Dead Space or Homeworld Cataclysm something filled more with existential dread.

Can I even call it a good ending? It's not bad either, since some of my favorite characters survive. I wouldn't say I entirely enjoyed this Fafner experience, the first season was harsh on me, and I hope they tone it down in the next seasons for the sake of my sanity. The message is truly beautiful, teaching about the beauty of life and death, how death is never the end but the beginning of a new, beautiful life. Still, it was really painful and left me wounded. I don't hate it, that's for sure. But how much do I like it? I can't say right now. Maybe I'll have my answer when I finish watching the entire story, which seems quite long, so I'll take my time with it. For now, I'll take a short break and start something more optimistic. Anyway, I don't hate anyone for recommending Fafner. It might be someone's favorite because they learned something beautiful from it, and I respect that.

Was reluctant to buy CE Remake due to what I was seeing online, but I saw so many mixed things I had to try it for myself so I've been playing through it with my wife. Honestly so far I do think some of the hatred for this game is overblown. While every criticism I've made of it's cutscenes and art-style I stand behind, as well as other criticisms, it does get a fair amount of stuff right to. I think the Elites and covenant in general look pretty great, Chief himself, the atmosphere of most levels (Esp 343 guilty spark) weapons feel pretty damn good, some cutscenes are pretty terrible but others are great. It's overall a very mixed bag so far, but leaning positive. Have I changed my mind that CE needed a remake? No, is this Remake better than OG? No, should it have been better than what it is? Yes. But am I having fun playing it? Also yes. It's not the worst remake ever like some are saying.

I remember talking with the USA Hockey leadership group a few years back when I started as a youth hockey director and I was like “I don’t know if I can do this…” It was stressful as hell and it was hard to enact the kind of things I wanted to do because the youth hockey culture was so backwards on the priorities of development. They told me that I’d be shocked how many good, high level hockey people get into it for a year to give back and then are like - nah I’m good this is not the experience I was looking for. We need to find a way to entice more good hockey people to want to get involved in the youth side of the game. And I think the only way to do it is more community based hockey. Less pressure, more development. More opportunity for the players who get out of the high level of the game to enjoy coming to the rink and not feel like it’s a full time job again.
