Solana’s active validator count has fallen from 2,100 to ~800 in the last 3 years. Why? > small-mid size validators are being pruned by Solana since April 2025 > inflation rewards dropping from 6% to 1.5% > SFDP decreased stake matching from 100% to 50%, this will trend to 0% Validators are dying from the burden of their huge operating costs. This is where Toby's OpenMEV comes in. > OpenMEV is the new yield layer > accrues and distributes on-chain rewards to validators and stakers > cuts off malicious MEVs > promotes Good MEVs that makes Solana efficient > makes on-chain activities safer > validators earns more from OpenMEV rewards Staker wins. My sister and I have been at her house all day, just running through movies back to back. Her husband is in Europe for work, so it’s been a full sister marathon. Out of nowhere she goes, “Do you want to watch The Handmaiden?” I looked at her and said, “Do you think I’m a lesbian?” She didn’t even blink. “Well… you have been single for a while.” I have officially been single long enough for my family to start running diagnostics.
