If you have city water, it doesn't typically get like this. Also, if you do drain them, buy the tanks with brass drain valves, NOT plastic as they tend to leak

Yeah I learned to upgrade all plumbing valves to brass and water lines to braided steel Nothing like watching people turn plastic valves and they crumble in someone’s hand and water spraying everywhere

Got a quote recently and it’s $10,000 for a whole house system. 2k sq ft home. $50/year maintenance. The more I think about the benefits the less sticker shock I have

Clear air & water are health. They’re not vanity or luxury superficial buys. So I agree with ya

Indigo Water Systems has one of the best whole house filters money can buy, between 4-8k depending on typical house size. I recently bought into the co because the system is scientifically better than 99% of what else is out there.

I have a small reverse osmosis filter on my line that goes to my kitchen. Municipal water. I really want to get a bigger filter system for the whole house.

Omg that used filter is so gross looking Also need air filtration. We run so many HEPAs and yet the filters are disgusting when we change em

Very normal if the home has hard water and water heater is not flushed annually. The fix: Have a water softener installed to handle the hardness and sign up for a maintenance plan with a good plumber. Note: If you want to remove chemicals and improve drinking water, a separate water filtration system will be needed. Such as an RO system or whole home carbon filter.

In PHX sediment in heaters is very common

Wow. Good to know.
