Gachagua Vows to Make Ruto a One-Term President Former DP Rigathi Gachagua on Monday swore to do whatever it takes to make President William Ruto a one-term president. Speaking alongside opposition politicians Kalonzo Musyoka and Eugene Wamalwa, Gachagua declared that he will work with all Kenyans to challenge Ruto’s administration and ensure the president doesn’t see a second term in office. He lashed out at Ruto’s government, calling it a dictatorship and accusing the president of being intolerant. "He wants his way, and all those ministers are just flower girls," Gachagua said, adding that he was the only one who could stand up to Ruto. Gachagua has repeatedly criticized Ruto’s administration since his ouster through impeachment in October 2024. He decried the government as a “one-man show,” claiming ministers have been reduced to mere sycophants. He called on Kenyans to rise against Ruto and warned that any reckless statements made by Ruto or his officials should be documented and forwarded to the International Criminal Court. The former DP has also been forging alliances with political figures he previously opposed. Just recently, he met Martha Karua, the NARC Kenya leader and Raila Odinga’s running mate in 2022, to discuss how they could unite and challenge Ruto’s “dictatorship.” Gachagua’s political future is taking shape through consultative meetings with leaders from different sectors at his Wamunyoro home in Nyeri. So that we are clear... Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua is the worst thing that ever happened to Kenyan politics. I have actually done a mental calculation of all top politicians since independence, but can't find one who is as vile, petty, vindictive, and plain ignorant, as that Mathira monster. Gachagua is a tribal lord who sees everything from one tiny window. So that I am not beating around any bush, between Gachagua and Ruto, Gachagua is so much worse that it is impossible to use the same parameters to compare. People don't notice that of all top politicians past and present, only Gachagua consistently talks about his community or tribes. He can't help it. He is as divisive as he is foolish. And the more he goes near a microphone, the more you realise that Ruto is still better. In fact, for many parts of Kenya where Kikuyu entitlement has been the vessel of entitlement, every Gachagua appearance on TV is a pro-Ruto campaign rally. We can resurrect Kihika Kimani and Paul Chepkok, place them next to Gachagua and the latter will still be worse. There is nothing that Mathira clown can say or do to make him a panacea to any perceived Ruto ills. In fact, to have a serious national conversation about change, we must first remove Rigathi from it!

Moureen Kinyua, a blogger from Nyeri and by the time of death in May 2019 was a Secretary to an MCA from Nyeri County. Police reports indicate that Moureen, was killed by a drunk driver in a hit and run incident in Nyeri 6yrs ago. At this time William Ruto was the Deputy President of Kenya and Rigathi Gachagua was the MP of Mathira. Ruto, in a video circulating, he is seen making a call to one Nancy, claimed to be Moureen's mother to condole with her following her daughter's death through an accident. 6 years later, William Ruto now President emerges in a rally and claims that he knows who killed Moureen. He accuses Rigathi Gachagua. My concerns; 1. For 6 years William Ruto has been knowing who killed Moureen and he has been quiet. 2. William Ruto, a whole president, knows who killed a Kenyan and he can't initiate a legal process against that person? 3. William Ruto knew that Gachagua had killed Moureen and he still chose him to be his Deputy President, 3yrs later in 2022? 4. Have the investigative agencies taken up the matter, interrogated the accuser and went on to arrest the alleged perpetrator based on the evidence from the witness (Ruto) on the capital offence of murder? 5. Will Ruto stand in court and testify on the allegations that he has given accusing someone of murder 6 years later! This video summarises all the questions in Kenyans minds.
