I’ve heard from many Utahns concerned that studies aimed at preventing drunk driving deaths could open the door to vehicle kill switches. Today, we clarified in appropriations that kill switches are not authorized. Here’s more on why I supported this amendment and what it actually does.

Americans need education on the Second Amendment: founders intended it for protection against tyrannical government, not hunting. Guns are inanimate objects that don't act alone. Gun control advocates ignore that drunk drivers kill 30 daily, so should we ban cars? Rifles/shotguns cause 550 deaths yearly, while knives 1,500 deaths yearly, why no knife control? Society's moral decline is the problem.

Studies show that Trump's dismantling of USAID may have already caused upwards of 1 million preventable deaths worldwide, and could cause up to 14 million more by 2030. At yesterday's Appropriations Committee markup, I offered an amendment that would direct the government to publish a study on how many deaths the shuttering of USAID has caused and could cause over the next five years if these cuts to lifesaving assistance continue. Unfortunately, Republicans rejected this amendment, proving they would rather stick their heads in the sand than acknowledge this unnecessary and tragic loss of life because of Trump's cruel policies.

There is a real federal law in effect right now that mandates vehicle kill switches in new cars, but it’s actually worse than that (I’ll get into below) Rep Thomas Massie “There's a law that states that every vehicle manufactured is gonna have to have a kill switch in it. The car itself will monitor your driving, and if the car thinks that you're not doing a good job driving, it will disable itself. So the car dashboard becomes your judge, your jury, and your executioner” The federal law is Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (The HALT Drunk Driving Act provision) It directs the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to create a federal motor vehicle safety standard for “advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology” in all new passenger vehicles If impairment is detected, the system must prevent or limit vehicle operation. Meaning refuse to start, reduce speed, or bring the car to a stop. This is the kill switch Possible triggers include: - Erratic steering or lane departures - Eyes closed or looking away too long - Detected alcohol via steering wheel sensors or cabin air You can already imagine how this will be abused by the government

He went from being concerned about killings in the Middle East to saying that Jews were invaders killing black people, that pretty soon he would kill us, and more... After I turned to leave he said that we were guilty of deicide - I figured it wouldn't be productive asking him how we could be invaders and also have been present in the Holy Land 2000 years ago...

RETHINK VAXXING It’s my personal belief that childhood and infant vaxxing is one of the greatest evils there is on this Earth. And I’m not alone. Just listen to what other people shared when I spoke about it. I know it in my heart what I’ve seen and experienced, what I’ve researched and it’s time for people to break the spell that the medical industry has cast over us. Those that are ready to hear will listen and understand it to be true. It is not fringe theory or conspiracy - there are many people who have seen the truth. We in our intelligent bodily systems can rely on nature to take care of our health - and these chemical concoctions do not support that. The benefits of health that are attributed to historical vaxxes are instead the result of nutrition and sanitation. As a population we are injected more than ever and yet we are sicker than ever - what does that tell you? It became an incredibly lucrative business - ask why these manufacturers are legally protected from the results of their “medications”. Everyone can make their own choices but I hope you can feel with your intuition that this practice is wrong and does not support health.
