I’ve learned from posting on social means that some people don’t think there are catfish in the ocean. There are plenty and this Osprey managed to hoist out a big Gafftopsail catfish. Glad I’m not a fish, especially a catfish.

that Osprey really pulled off an impressive feat of strength and hunting prowess! Catfish are not only big, but they can also put up quite a fight when hooked. So for an Osprey to be able to lift one of those bad boys out of the water and carry it off, well, that's pretty darn impressive.

I love watching them fish from our house in NSB. There is a pair that I see all the time. Addicted to birds of prey, raptors. I even had the chance to raise two falcons as a teen. My company logo has a golden eagle and named two products after them. Love your work. Thank you for sharing your breathtaking vids.

I used to live in NSB.

How much would that fish weigh? I guess 3-5 lbs US). The power that osprey needs to lift off the water amazes me. Those wings! 👀

I’d guess so too.

The way he stopped trying to fly, waiting for the wave to give him just enough of a lift to get up. So incredible.

Did that Osprey use the swell of the wave to help get back in the air….. looks like it to me. Awesome video as always.

Impressive strength to lift out of the water, but especially while in the water where I'm guessing the catfish is fighting to break away

@ValerieAnne1970 not as graceful as the previous "swoop" at the supermarket, but sometimes, when that last ribroast is sitting there alone at the bottom of the trough, ya gotta go *Splat and grab it before it's gone... 💃❤️🥩😋💪

I’ll never get over watching an osprey go to work. it’s unreal what they’re capable of :)
