The number of folks who don’t understand that a country’s ability to produce food so its citizens can eat is a top tier national security concern always surprises me. 1-2 percent of this country’s population provides the means for the rest of the population to live their lives. There is a reason that agriculture is the basis of civilization.

Please enact a more humane approach for the farm animals. Let them live their short lives grazing in the pasture. Ban crates that pigs are kept in. Factory farming must end. They are living beings that feel pain. Every life deserves kindness.
