I’ve needed to say this for awhile…

We all have to get behind Maresca, I don't understand the fury in pre season, it is not his fault that the sporting directors chose Pochettino and his outdated style of play and then decided we want a completely different Footballing vision within a year. We have already seen some really good attacking play which will only get better and we have plenty of good players in our starting XI, one would hope the young players will take on board the OOP ideas quickly and it will get better within the next month. Fan fury is just a chain reaction to how poorly run we have been since Clearlake took over and I know everyone is angry and frustrated but we need to allow this season to happen without throwing axes after a couple of months. My main anger is toward Egbhali and SD's, insistence on buying everything young with a price tag, stockpiling unnecessary and then briefing we don't have x, y and z to make game changers actually happen. You can't spend a billion and still need a couple of wingers, top CB, top Gk and ST, it's poor.

Well said. I also think the part where you talk about the Revisionism of the end of Romans Era and how things were not as rosy as people make it out to be now was great too and had to be said.

As someone who’s rewatched every single game of our pre season more than once & analysed Maresca’s time at Leicester I’d probably agree with this despite my concerns out of possession, it’s obvious that he’s definitely trying some things out he may well not do once pre season is over & that’s ok, pre season isn’t about results, it’s about getting players fit & trying stuff Doesn’t help that Maresca himself said they’ve barely had time to even do training sessions so very difficult for a new coach to get his ideas across quickly, think I’d like to see fans have more constructive criticism whilst acknowledging the good, if they’re gonna kick off at anything it should probably be the consistent problems we’ve seen for the last 2 years which could include upstairs

People need to be patient, we’ve gone from a manager that gives limited tactical instructions to one where every little detail matters. It’s going to take time, the squad is talented and Maresca should be backed for now to get the most out of it.
