@trailblazers I saw that team play in person versus the NY Nets in 1977. Bill was awesome that night as he was for the entire season. That team played special team basketball centered around Bill. I feel blessed to have seen that team. Great memory.

@trailblazers RIP Bill Walton NBA superstar a man of great character! One who was well respected and loved by his fans.

I remember Bill Walton in his early years with the Blazers. I was a senior in High School when the Blazers won the championship. With the press he was so shy & guarded perhaps due to his issues with stuttering. He sure changed in subsequent playing years & specifically after retirement as a color commentator. It was hard for his broadcast partner to get him to stop talking. Living in San Diego, Bill’s hometown, the last 29 years, I really appreciate Bill as one of the best all-around basketball players & all-around individual.
