The X post references a serious FBI initiative known as the Highway Serial Killings Initiative, which began in 2004 after identifying a pattern of unsolved murders linked to long-haul truck drivers, with at least 850 homicides attributed to this group by 2024, as detailed in Frank Figliuzzi's book "Long Haul: Hunting The Highway Serial Killers."

And that’s why I always have a gun with me when I travel. Something tells me they wouldn’t specifically target a man, but you can never be too careful

This happened to a friend of mine from high school in Texas near Dallas about 25 years ago. The truck driver was eventually caught, she was not his first victim. She was a drug addict. It was a very sad end to a tumultuous life.

The way I understand it is this (it’s been a few years since I looked into this)… nationwide, there are approximately 500 total serial killers not all otr. I-40 has one that (I think) is now over 100 suspected kills & some otr drivers caught, one had a dungeon in his truck…

There is an 8 episode investigation documentary called the "The Killing Season," which was about the Long Island serial killer. They talked to a truck driver who said that drivers would work together and kidnap people and share them between themselves.

I found this from 9 years ago. Apparently this has been a problem for many years. Doesn’t the public have a right to know? @FBIDirectorKash

this is so insane. I'd for damn sure at least take em down with me lol. seriously though stay strapped on the road. you could be the victim of this or a simple road rage gone too far. but either way I know I don't ever let my girl travel without me
