The algorithm on IG sent me a clip of a movie I’ve never seen, and now I think I need to watch it. Gene Wilder once said in an interview, “We poked racism in the face, and the nose is bleeding, but we do it while you laugh.” That movie is Blazing Saddles. Mel Brooks was making fun of racism, and Richard Pryor was one of the co-writers. From what I’ve seen, it’s bold and hilarious while calling out the ridiculousness of racism. It definitely sounds like it’s worth watching. Is anyone else a fan?
