Black athletes go from being drafted into the NFL to signing a lucrative contract with millions, to marrying a white woman. It’s happening so often it’s starting to seem normal. My position is when a black person marries outside of their race, it symbolizes a disconnect from the Black community and is a reinforcement of white supremacy. Black athletes who amass significant wealth often have the potential to reinvest in Black-owned businesses, charities, schools, and initiatives that uplift their community. However, when wealth is shared with or passed down to non-Black families, it could diminish the economic base of Black communities.

And yet, Black people are still having their Blackness questioned as adults in 2025 for their hobbies or the way they dress lmao. When Trump said Hispanic migrants are “taking Black jobs,” what he really meant was: Black folks are taking white jobs, and we need to get the plantation back in order. I’m from the Deep South—the 50th-ranked state in the country. A state that’s over a third Black, yet run by conservatives who always find a way to blame Black communities for its failures. So, I’m never shocked by statements like these. But I do wonder—do all the folks who like to play nice and pretend everything is fine still feel that way today? We have a choice in how we move forward with each other. Trump should be letting the investigation play out, but he can’t help himself. He’s on a mission to restore what he and Elon see as the natural order: intelligent white men and women in charge—who, in reality, are just mediocre—backed by a handful of others who pledge their loyalty to whiteness. At this point, I just want us to stop pretending. And to the Black folks who never support Black leaders—is this better? The future we want won’t build itself. It’s on us to fight for—now.
