I've never understood why Chelsea fans rate Levi Colwill so high. This guy isn't good in defending. He is only good on the ball. I'd rather Xabi Alonso pair Hato and Lacroix than Colwill.

WHY Maxence Lacroix Could Fix Chelsea’s Biggest Problem… Chelsea have not struggled to create chances. They have struggled to stop good ones. Last season, Chelsea consistently gave opponents high-quality looks at goal, especially in transition. Too often, one broken shape or one lost duel turned into a clear chance. That is where Maxence Lacroix could change everything. He is one of the quickest centre-backs in the Premier League, dominant in the air and elite when it comes to positioning himself inside the box. He is a front-foot stopper who can step into duels, engage strikers early and still has the recovery pace to deal with runners in behind. That profile could be perfect for Xabi Alonso’s system. In a back three, Lacroix could become the central reference point: protecting the penalty area, winning first contacts and allowing Reece James and Levi Colwill to operate either side of him. He is not the most expansive passer, and Chelsea will need to protect him from being isolated in possession if he plays as a wide centre-back. Jacobo Ramon is honestly a better signing at Centre Back for Chelsea than Lacroix. One of the main reasons is that he doesn't block Acheampong, he's a natural CCB. So very comfortable playing LCB, and Xabi Alonso knows that very well about him.

Adam Wharton can definitely be a good Enzo Fernandez replacement, more disciplined. Much better off the ball in reality than what is said, defends his zone very well. Xabi Alonso can coach him to be a bit more controlled at Chelsea as well, good fit .

If Xabi Alonso’s plan of signing Pep Chavarria is to keep Jorrel Hato on the bench, i wouldn’t like it, Hato was a beast at Ajax but stayed as a backup to Marc Cucurella when he arrived at Chelsea, this is his chance and the club should not deny him that, he should be our starting left back, he’s going to be a top player if given enough playing time, this club is prone to underrating stars with potentials and they end up regretting it at the end. Look at Lewis Hall now, he’s valued at €110M but was offloaded by Chelsea like he was nothing, same thing with Renato Veiga who was denied playing time until he ran out of patience and left, he was solid in the champions league and world cup games, I can mention a lot of good players that Chelsea underrated and they went ahead to prove us wrong. Pep Chavarria might be a good player but he’s 28 years old, we can’t lose a 21 years old Jorrel because of him. If Chelsea FC sell Hato, I’d not be happy with the club and Xabi Alonso in particular.
