Of those choices the answer is Louis by just a slight margin over Ray. It was a deeper role with more emotional range.

I choose Boolie Werthan in Driving Miss Daisy (1989)—far more grounded and dramatic, and I was impressed that you didn't do the usual Hollywood thing of insultingly mocking a Southern character, even if an Atlanta "city" Southerner. I think you got it right. Don't worry about any criticisms about dialect, or small issues, because Atlanta (or the Chattahoochee River) is right on the border between two distinct Georgia dialects, and Atlanta itself has always enjoyed a mixture of influences, including some of its own unique pockets (like an "Ansley Park" dialect mostly spoken by long time older residents of that culturally high-society neighborhood, a group that is, alas, disappearing). Too many Hollywood portrayals of Southerners are exaggerated caricatures. Boolie felt authentic to someone who was born and has deep roots here. My deepest appreciation!
