I’ve submitted the People over Parking Act, a bill that eliminates parking minimums across the country in transit rich zones. We are in a housing crisis and eliminating parking requirements lowers costs to build. It’s good housing & climate policy. Let’s get this done.

Fantastic speech, Representative! There is no rational defense of costly and arbitrary parking mandates. Let's build more living space and less parking space.

@painter_nancy I live in an area with zero reliable mass transit and requirements for parking spaces on multi-housing. Some new apartments were just built with the absolute minimum parking. The results? Small 1 bdrm for $1,500. If you want parking, add $400 A MONTH! I've seen the future.

good work! This should be an easy sell to the GOP majority. This bill strengthens property rights for land owners and businesses!

You disingenuously say, on one hand, eliminating parking requirements simply allows developers to determine adequate parking needs, on the other, it will reduce driving. That latter is true only if developers do not adequately supply parking.

Wow this would be amazing. Next up eliminate single family housing.

@RobertGarcia Thank you for this common sense bill

You dropped this. —> 👑

@KingDavie24 What would be even better for solving the housing crisis is a bill to eliminate all urban growth boundaries and limit local zoning codes rather than trying to force people into shoebox apartments and rely on others for transportation.

A congressman for the people!

People are not going to ride bicycles to work.
