Jack Ma spent this entire conversation explaining artificial intelligence to Elon Musk. Ma: “I never think about that. I think it’s impossible. Human beings, they are different. Machines are invented by human beings. And according to the science, humans can never create another animal that is smarter than humans.”... show more

他本名其实叫马云

Humans are just arrogant they can genetically engineer a superior human. Didn’t Frankenstein start out like that

Artificial Cleverness and artificial intelligence are two different animals. Intelligence is conscious and consciousness has nothing artificial in it. Nature doesn't fake anything.

Yeah it will always be us. But after we merge in the singularity AI is part of us.

Human history has taught us that anything can constitute the nemesis of an individual/society. But, it's not a deterministic outcome one way or the other. Everything depends on the action of human beings in dealing/treating whatever it is that they have produced/created. POV

How about human emotions? The better question is of what value is AI without humans?

"humans can never create another animal that is smarter than humans" - I would ask Jack Ma to multiply 34672 by 89471 in his head. A simple pocket calculator does this operation in 0.001 seconds.

I love the side eye Elon has during this whole thing!

Инженер против торговца.

Ma is a full on retard.

Tudo deságua para o mesmo mar.

“Humans created machines, therefore machines cannot become smarter than humans” is simply a non sequitur. A calculator is a machine and is better at calculating than humans. AI is a machine and is better at recall of knowledge than humans. However being smarter is a more difficult thing to determine.. To establish that an AI is generally smarter than a human, you would need some operational definition of intelligence and then compare performance across things like reasoning, learning efficiency, transfer to unfamiliar problems, planning, causal understanding, creativity, social cognition, metacognition, adaptability, and perhaps embodied interaction with the world. The logically sound position is: “Human creation does not prevent superhuman capability. We already know machines can surpass humans in individual cognitive domains. Whether those advantages can be integrated into a system that is generally more intelligent than humans is a separate empirical question.”

Leadership is about asking the questions that can prove your assumptions wrong rather than being certain about the future.

He was so confused at the end

Great to see two people disagree but hopefully with respect?

But the singularity is defined as when the computers develop themselves

Ma: "...And according to the science, humans can never create another animal that is smarter than humans.” - According to which "science" exactly??

What Ma misunderstands is that a computer in its basic function only responds to yes-and-no questions at extremely high speed. In basic form, computers cannot accurately and safely fabricate information. Computers designed for human needs eliminate random auto-generated bits of data that could accumulate and mimic creative thinking. This is not because computers lack a soul or morals to determine what is safe for humans, but because these random, unregulated bits do not assemble into patterns that complement logical assumptions and instead contaminate data. We do not want a computer arguing that 2 + 2 = 6 when historical and logical evidence shows it equals 4. Mr. Ma stops at the thinking process, assuming our measure of intelligence ends at creative thinking and that all creative thinking yields intelligent decisions. Intelligence in humans also includes speed in reaching a correct answer. In intelligence testing, fast wrong answers count against an individual’s intelligence, while in a computer they are rewarded as acceptable bad data if not filtered out, as in current engineering designs. My thinking may be flawed and Mr. Ma wasn’t misunderstanding and I misunderstood what he really intended.

His(Ma Yun ) shortsightedness is obvious.

AI’s response 👇

Musk patiently, respectfully, and kindly asked a simple question, and Ma simply repeated hollow bluster. Musk seems to be a really good guy from everything I can tell His mom should write a book on how she raised him

Better at open ended problems.

Yea.. Ma doesn't come across as very impressive here. The ACTUAL ANSWER is -> real understanding of the universe which includes all kinds psychic-like abilities & much more. I've said before that I am smarter than 'ai' and it AIn't gonna change. Humans are multi-dimensional. 'ai' isn't. Humans have a soul and an indestructible-spirit-body which 'ai' can never have. Humans can receive an INFINITE ENERGY from outside the universe and become INFINITE-IMMORTAL-DIVINES with a host of abilities you cannot even imagine at this point. Humans cannot die. 'ai' can. Humans can feel spirits, hear them in some cases, and also receive energies and ideas from unseen spirits ..as @elonmusk does himself and he doesn't even know it yet! The abilities only increase immensely as one evolves including teleporting.. which WE ALL DO while in spirit-body when physically asleep each night. The list goes and goes.. MA simply isn't the one who should be making this argument. He has no special knowledge of intelligence nor what humans really are. 'ai' can never truly exceed a human's potential. In fact, THE HUMAN SOUL IS A HIGHER CREATION THAN THE UNIVERESE ITSELF!! Ponder that... 'ai' knows none of what I share here.. nor possesses the emotional qualities to FEEL IT AS TRUTH.. even once it scrapes this answer.
