You can tell they're both liars because one of them said "one only tells lies" and the other said "one only tells truths." If the liar said either of these, that would mean they are lying. If the truth teller agrees, that means he's also lying.

Too bad that guy was a fraud but I'm sure Jack sliced open his way outta its gut anyway.

I saw a D&D joke a bit ago where a very similar scenario happened, so the archer shot one of the two people asking the riddle. The guy that got shot goes “YOU SHOT ME!” And the second goes “HE COMPLETELY MISSED!” And thusly the riddle was solved!😁
