Same thing happened to me in Jacksonville about 10 years ago. Stole my purse and cashed $8K worth of checks through my account using my ID. Never found the person. Bank of America said it was too small to investigate and reimbursed me. 3 years later a Miami police officer called me saying they found my credit cards and ID on ground while chasing a guy with a bag of stolen cards!!! Had to change everything and was a royal pain in the azzzzzz.

When someone tried to cash business checks from my company, the bank made them provide a thumb print. It was easy to catch them later when the checks were proven fraudulent. Why isn't this more common?

Welcome to the Felon Lane Gang (FLG) scam. They move up & down I-95 & I-75 stealing purses & cashing checks at bank drive thrus using the lane furthest from the tellers. The females involved are usually drug addicts. Big problem in FL for the past 10 years.
