Jacob Rees-Mogg asks: why import foreign gas when we’re sitting on trillions of cubic feet at home? Michael Crick says it’s about symbolism — 'we show commitment by not using our own' Kelvin MacKenzie: 'That’s nonsense. Net zero at this speed will bankrupt us. It can’t be done'

It's a larger scale version of a young woman who came to the community garden I volunteer at a few weeks ago. She told me "because of ethical and environmental reasons I don't drive and I never will". "How did you get here today?" I asked. "My boyfriend drove me".

Bankrupting the country is what the Starmer beast was installed to do, among other things, wasnt it?

Jacob has a vested interest in fracking, shouldn't be allowed to cover energy or energy policy . Total conflict of interest.

Senator Wyden: " We are in an arms race on clean energy with them. Are you going to be on the side of people who want to unravel this?" Treasury secretary nominee Scott Bessent: " China will build a hundred new coal plants this year. Senator Wyden. There is not a clean energy race. There is an energy race. China will build 10 nuclear plants this year."

Symbolism=looking good rather than doing good.

It’s already too late for the UK Thanks to Boris and Rishi there really wasn’t much left to wreck. Starmer is just finishing up the ruination of the once majestic UK But then again, Everything thing Woke touches turns to dung

Not using the resources you have at hand is criminal. Basics of life prove people & countries that survive are people & places that use their assets & think about what's best for overal survival of the masses & react accordingly, not going against the overall need on a whim.

Our pensioners have to freeze, millions struggling to pay ever increasing energy bills but it’s ok because it’s all about symbolism. Absolute shambles.

It’s just like Coal we have approx 150 years of coal lying under our ground but we choose to import coal in from overseas rather than use our own ,it’s the same now with Gas we have Trillions of Cubic Meters but would sooner pay a fortune than use our own

Wasting my time sending this to GN News as no-one sees them.
