Nightcrawler was basically showing what reality streaming is like, and how far streamers will go for $$. Great film, but it also shows how pathetic people are that they will do literally anything for $$ at the lowest possible effort.

Jake Gyllenhaal should’ve been nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor for Nightcrawler but this film was ignored by the Academy for reasons I cannot explain. I miss ‘10s Cinema- I miss this entire run from Jake. Nightcrawler’s pace never lets up & that’s because of the intensity Jake brings to every single scene.

I think Jake Gyllenhaal is the most underrated actor of his generation. Gyllenhaal’s filmography is tremendous & includes films from David Fincher, Denis Villeneuve, and Bong Joon-Ho. But Nightcrawler elevated Gyllenhaal to another level. This is a “holy shit” performance.
