Think about what he’s saying. Did you ever believe it would STILL apply to the world of 2023?

Pretty telling that I wasn’t taught anything about this man in my history classes

Powerful words and the courage to speak them. Thank you for sharing. Also passing this along.

I fear that we are beyond educating people about their prejudices and biases or trying to speak to their moral compass. We've allowed overt racism in this country to reignite and many Americans want it and expect their leaders to deliver on it.

as a UK/US citizen the standing and pledging to a flag is deeply fucking sus and the most unamerican thing I can think of, honestly

Thank you. My book shelf Carrie’s James Baldwin’s novels, but I forget what a great orator he was, someone who spoke as deeply as MLK about America. Someone we need; a writer the radical right bans, though even Buckley knew enough to listen.

@JackMCarey1 Hi Molly -- I grew up in a white suburb although I am biracial. I was taught what we all were: white supremacist ideology! Thank God for James Baldwin. I learned much more once I got to the university level.
