I have a friend who doesn't read anything published in the past 50 years, and the more I think about it, the more I think he's onto something. The reason is that time is the best filter we have for quality. People are bad at judging quality in the moment but very good at getting rid of junk over time. — — "History is not very good at capturing all that is great in art. It is not good at that. There are many great symphonies that have been lost permanently, there are many great painters that died unknown and their paintings are gone, there's novels that have been written that no one will ever read. So history is not good at capturing all this great art. But history is very good at discarding all that is mediocre. And the amount of time that that takes, it's something like 50 years. So over the course of 50 years, what will happen is a lot of stuff that was prominent will be re-filtered and re-filtered and re-filtered, and you'll end up with a smaller group of things which have survived that test of time. So if you think about it right now, if you go back and look at the bestseller lists for 1974, 1973, there's a lot of that that would have been highly regarded at the time, which people do not read anymore for a variety of reasons, and there's some that has survived, and that's a very telling distinction. Buckle Up? We've Been Buckled For Years Bud New hopium dropped this week that 2020 will finally be revealed and we're being reminded for the umpteenth time to buckle up and hold the line. The patterns are pattering and I genuinely don't understand what people think is going to happen from this. We've been getting told that the bad guys are finally going to see their day of reckoning for nearly a decade now and I can't see one who has. One of my friends had his flag attached to his fence and it's been ripped down on three separate occasions but in America they fly their flag proud and humongous. Can you see that flag behind me? Why are we not as patriotic as they are in America? Look at the size of that thing, I've never seen anything like that. We wouldn't be allowed that in the UK which is crazy to think about. You're not even allowed to fly your own flag in your own country. What is going on? If you saw somebody ripping down the American flag in America, what would you do? This is why I do what I do- I believe in fair play, getting on in life and that everyone should have a good life. But the elites are laughing at us- raking in the cash, chums getting plum jobs while my constituents can't pay their bills. I don't act from ideology- I act for what's best for people. My message has struck a chord because no matter your political opinion, we all agree that our lives are not getting better whilst the elites are thriving. Something has to change. I think it's worth building consensus on that so that all of our people have better lives and that power is held to account. No more elites shafting the little guy and rubbing our face in it!

And when you think about the shocks to air travel and shipping and energy, and then what are they spending their time on? Making cute videos to try to, like, make themselves laugh about the fact that we're doing this? I think it's gross. I guess Charles Hoskinson makes a good point. And yes, it's right. Our lives were not different back in 2021 when Cardano was at $100B mcap. And I do think most people are angry because $ADA is tanking. But it's been 5 years since then and nothing has changed. We didn't change the world. We didn't change our lives. We are pretty much in same situation just with less money (or at least the diamond hands lol). Yet I have 2 questions: - Is the mission still to change the world? That's what I signed up for, but it feels more far away than last year. - If IOG gets funded every year for the next 5, will we achieve that? If that's a yes for both, I'm happy with that answer. I still do believe some of the proposals should've been revisited. But I'm a nobody, just a random Saturday opinion.

I think, frist of all, an unbelievable effort from the team really to put the car down, you know, at 9:20 this morning. But the was ready at 9:00 you know. We were waiting on a bit of a better track condition and a few things that we wanted to be perfect before we went out. But yeah, from Fiorano testing with Ollie to here there's been moving like people have climbed mountains really to make this car work and it's been really good. So, we are dealing with the plan, learning as it goes. Of course, it's a busy program that we have for the day. So you know, its gonna be difficult to complete it. But for the first real day of driving, I think so far it's going really well and we'll keep pushing to make sure that all the details are covered. But we have more days than normal which is a good thing. Q: Very early days, of course, but just how different are these cars to drive? Have you had a chance to play around a little bit with some of the new modes? Ocon: Yeah, it's very difficult, very complicated. I got lucky be able to do a lot of simulator days before we started the year, so we are pretty well set on that. Everything is clear, but yes, it's very complicated you know, for all of us. But I hope that this will be the same for everyone, because if it is we're in the same boat, so we'll see. Q: But I get the sense you're really relishing that challange and what about the priorities from here, the rest of the weel here at the shakedown? Ocon: Yeah, the aim is really to learn, to get mileage under the car, you know, see the weak points, what we have to improve really. This same Promiseland show? I see a lot of people tagging me in videos to suggest that Promiseland was a flop. Once again, this same show? Or you just decided to push the part of the event that fits your toxic narrative that the show flopped! Yes, there were challenges but I can say the same for all events this season as well, but a flop? 🤣 You are so desperate for him to flop so you looked for videos that support your theory, something this camp has been doing to all other events, every other person seems like a threat to this particular camp, I think it's a demonic spirit and because you can count on the dumb fans to share it, they've been doing that like they robots. We are entering a new year, and I really do not have time for this unnecessary agenda, and then when the same energy is given you start saying we hate you. Honestly, I would have been surprised if they didn't do that to Promiseland too! How I wish the same energy would go into the streams for their favs, because if I compare the numbers and they don't add up I won't mind using RETROGRESSING again!
