Good job James Moore. David Cochrane and @CBCNews you might want to think about the constant Alberta bashing you have done for years, before you continue that kind of nonsense and frankly despicable journalism. Albertans are more and more interested in separating from Canada 🇨🇦. This way Québec can get its energy and whatever else they want , any way they want, from any country they want, on its own. Alberta will not need Québec to bring its 1/3 of world energy to market. And CBC will disappear from our airwaves.

Yes, the rest of Canada needs to step up for Alberta and ensure that they feel united with the rest of Canada. The Trudeau family, Pierre and Justin, are largely responsible for the mistreatment of Alberta. Quebec, alone, has profited from Alberta through equalization payments!

The Canadian public definitely don't want to give up their sovereignty, but they really want to explore this idea of an economic union. Canada has unlimited resources, power, gas, water, lumber, unlimited everything. What if we had free trade east, west, north, south, and we put all our resources instead of squabbling on our own border between Canada and the United States and put all that money up into protecting ourselves against the Chinese and the Russians up north? That all makes sense to Canadians. They just don't want to give up their sovereignty, but the way to solve for that is a passport, no different than the EU. Any American can get it. Any Canadian can get it. Get the background check. They're starting to like that idea a lot more than the idea of selling out the whole country.

You will not lose your Canadian passport in an independent Alberta. That's just pure fear-mongering by the "stay" side because they have no other argument. They need to meet the 5 criteria...when they will bring that project forward we will take a look where they are and evaluate it any other project. Tanker ban? It's hypothetical question." Why not be proactive and be part of the solution? They know that their red tape is what stands in the way and will not bring any confidence to the private sector.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith does a fantastic jobs breaking it down: "I cannot think of a more disastrous policy decision than cutting off or taxing Alberta's oil to the United States." > US will respond with a 50%–100% tariff on fuels supplied to Ontario and Quebec. > US refineries would replace Alberta heavy crude with Venezuelan oil, cutting Canada off as a supplier permanently. > At least 500,000 jobs would be wiped out across Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. > Retaliatory US cuts to gasoline and diesel exports would leave eastern Canada stranded without fuel right as fall and winter begin. > Canada has no reserves to supply Ontario and Quebec. > The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) would nose-dive, devastating Canadian investments, and pensions.
