The caller should stick with his teaching job for the next 120 months -- he likely qualifies for federal student loan forgiveness as a high school teacher. Other federal programs also grant student loan forgiveness to teachers. See here:

I have met many students in Uni that changed degrees almost every year, never graduated but continue taking out student loans - because they could. Schools have no limits, no expectations, no requirements. They are happy with the money flowing in from indecisive students.

I know a doctor who struggled to pass his boards. He's an award winning doctor now. He took some sort of course that helps doctors pass their boards. I think he failed twice but passed the 3rd time. His practice did not let him go but required the course.
