The caller should stick with his teaching job for the next 120 months -- he likely qualifies for federal student loan forgiveness as a high school teacher. Other federal programs also grant student loan forgiveness to teachers. See here:

I have met many students in Uni that changed degrees almost every year, never graduated but continue taking out student loans - because they could. Schools have no limits, no expectations, no requirements. They are happy with the money flowing in from indecisive students.

I know a doctor who struggled to pass his boards. He's an award winning doctor now. He took some sort of course that helps doctors pass their boards. I think he failed twice but passed the 3rd time. His practice did not let him go but required the course.

The student loans debt started accruing interest immediately By the time she finished school 4 years later she had already accrued $50,000 in interest “So when I started my repayment, I had $170,000 of private student loans due — that's something I didn't know, and I think you should know too if you're thinking about taking out private student loans, because they're predatory as f*ck” People don’t understand that at just 10-12% APR which is common for private loans, on $120k over 4 years you will accrue about $40k–$60k+ in interest before any payments Federal student loans will typically give you a grace perished but private loans typically won’t A lot of people will just make minimum payments and by doing this your balance really never moves. They’re a debt trap
