Jamie Carragher 🗣️ “Chelsea’s obsession with playing through the middle is clear. It brings control and quality through players like Enzo, Brentford exploited the man-to-man structure forcing players like Cucurella & Garnacho into uncomfortable positions ”

Pundit 🗣️Chelsea’s biggest mistake was thinking talent alone could replace experience. Even Cucurella and Enzo Fernández publicly admitted this squad lacks seniority in key moments. The interesting part? When Enzo and Cucurella spoke publicly, I didn’t take it as players trying to force exits. I took it as players who actually care enough to be frustrated.

🚨 I don’t think we genuinely understand the level of work this Man is putting in for Super eagles. ‼️From the Clear identity & pressing structure, to the integration and devt of young players & less dependence on star players and inclusion of Good players anywhere in the world

Chelsea’s build-up to the 2nd goal was brilliant. Quick ball circulation, then a long pass from Caicedo to Garnacho, who dragged the fullback out. Enzo made the run, received it, split three Villa players with a pass, & João Pedro finished clinically.

🚨 ENZO FERNANDEZ UPDATE: Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol says Enzo Fernandez is NOT regarded as one of Chelsea’s “untouchable” players. Chelsea’s untouchables include players like Cole Palmer, Reece James and João Pedro. Enzo wanted a new contract and a pay rise after seeing other key players rewarded with improved deals. He is also open to joining Manchester City and reuniting with Enzo Maresca, while it is claimed Real Madrid would have been his preferred move but Madrid never came for him. His absence from Chelsea’s last two games is also seen as significant, especially with Xabi Alonso having to use right-backs in midfield. Man City have now opened direct club-to-club talks with Chelsea. Chelsea will only sell for the right price AND if they can strengthen the squad before the window closes.

🚨🎙️JAMIE CARRAGHER ON CHELSEA’S ENZO FERNANDEZ DEADLINE: 🗣️“Chelsea are being absolutely shameless. You can’t spend weeks making it clear a player is available, then suddenly give Manchester City a 5PM deadline and demand £120M like you’re doing them a favour. If you genuinely want Enzo gone, negotiate like a serious football club. If you want him to stay, just say it. This whole situation looks embarrassing. Chelsea are trying to control the narrative, the player’s future and the transfer market all at once. That’s not how elite clubs operate. Honestly, I’d be amazed if Manchester City even blinked.”

🟥 Arne Slot on what the Liverpool team struggled with against Man City: 🗣️ "We struggled now a lot with them bringing so many players into the centre of the pitch and it was difficult for some of our players then to make the right decision. "
