Winning Super Bowl 56 was bitter sweet for Odell Beckham Jr. He’d seen all the greats hoist the Lombardi trophy. As the clock expired he shed tears, but not just for the win. His ACL that was compromised when he signed with the Los Angeles Rams had torn completely. After the injury he sulked, he screamed, & he cried. Until the roar of the crowd during Tee Higgins’ touchdown snapped him out of his rut. He returned to the sidelines with fire to watched his team complete a Super Bowl comeback. The first thing co-owner Joel Glazer said when presented with the Lombardi Trophy? “I’ve gotta start by saluting all the healthcare workers here. They’re the real champions.” 7,500 healthcare workers were in attendance. Patriots owner Robert Kraft even surprised 76 New England area healthcare workers with an all-expenses paid trip to Florida aboard the team plane.

"The 'Criminal Element' Game" September 12, 1976 Some of the overly-aggressive, often dirty plays from the #Steelers-#Raiders clsssic in Oakland Born perhaps from 1972's controversial "Immaculate Reception" involving the two rivals, and certainly exacerbated by Raider safety George Atkinson's injurious cheap shot on Pittsburgh's Lynn Swann in the AFC Championship the previous January, the 1976 opener was full of illegal hits by both teams. The game got completely out of hand in the second half, with many penalties called. Basically there was a cheap shot on seemingly every play. Steelers head coach Chuck Noll commented afterwards: "You have a criminal element in all aspects of society. Apparently, we have it in the NFL too. Maybe we have a law-and-order problem." His comments were at least tacitly directed at Oakland's George Atkinson and Jack Tatum. Noll further suggested that Atkinson be thrown out of the NFL for his actions. NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle fined Atkinson $1,500 for the play, and Noll $1,000 for his comments. In 1977, Atkinson filed a $2 million libel lawsuit against Noll and the Steelers for comments that he felt slandered his reputation. Noll and the Steelers would eventually win the lawsuit, however he was forced to admit under oath that several of his own Pittsburgh players would possibly fall under the label of the same "criminal element" of which he had previously spoken. The 1976 contest stands as one of the roughest games in NFL history.

In 1999, the Falcons proposed an irresistible trade that turned the Ravens’ second-round pick into a first-rounder a year later. Atlanta got it wrong! Since the wheels fell off in Atlanta in the season that followed, the Ravens had a fifth overall pick to play with, and they used it to bring Jamal Lewis to Baltimore! What a career he had! Jamal won the Super Bowl in his rookie year and then went on to have one of the best seasons ever for a running back in 2003. As a result, he was named to the All Pro team and Pro Bowl for the first and only time in his career, and was named as PFWA’s NFL MVP, whilst finishing fourth in AP’s vote. Lewis would later be featured in the NFL 2000’s All-Decade team!
