Japan has never apologized for its war that caused 35 million Chinese casualties and still hides this history. China will never forgive this WWII ally of Nazi Germany. Japan will pay the price for its resurgent militarism and provocations.

👇🏽One of the reasons why many Chinese still hate Japanese government so much. No words could describe the atrocities Japan committed in China during #WWII. #Japan still hasn’t apologized to Chinese people, and tried to erase this history.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi: After WW2, Germany conducted a thorough reckoning with Nazi crimes and passed laws banning speech and actions that promote Nazi ideology. But Japan still pays homage to Class A war criminals, who are enshrined as so-called “heroic spirits.” This suggests that Japan still harbors lingering ambitions regarding Taiwan, and that the ghost of militarism continues to haunt the country. The lessons of history are not far behind us.

🇯🇵 Japan wanted Munich to be a stage; 🇨🇳 China made it a mirror. For decades Japan performed amnesia, but the moment its PM openly claimed a right to intervene in “Taiwan affairs,” history walked back into the room. Wang Yi didn’t escalate, he just diagnosed. A Fascist country that refuses to face its war crimes, but believes it can decide China’s sovereignty, is not seeking “stability,” it is rehearsing old ambitions in new language. And here is the part the West rarely understands: Japan should be grateful for the Chinese government’s restraint, and for how much anti-Japanese sentiment it has contained for decades. Japan mistakes its “politeness” and “obedience” for virtues that erase the past. They don’t. Westerners who never lived through Nanjing, who never saw Unit 731, who never heard the last cries of comfort women, cannot feel what 35 million Chinese deaths carved into our memory. But Chinese people know: beneath the romance of falling cherry blossoms is blood-soaked soil, and beneath the elegance of a kimono are the lice of a past Japan refuses to wash off. On Chinese social media, the mainstream view has been consistent for years: the historical reckoning with Japan is unfinished. And this time, it won’t be outsourced to America. It will be carried out by Chinese people themselves, a completing of the Pacific War that history never allowed China to finish, so these scars do not pass to the next generation. When China warns Japan today, it is not hostility. It is memory refusing to be buried.

🇯🇵 This woman claims that she's glad Japan is being hated because of WWII. She claims that the US helped Japan come up with "Hello Kitty" to cover up for war crimes and Japan never paid the price. In reality, Japan was hit with two nukes and every major city was destroyed.

On the 81st anniversary of Japan’s unconditional surrender — a day marking victory in the War of Resistance against Japan — all Chinese remember history and vow never to forget the national humiliation. Japan still has debts it must settle with China.

🇨🇳🇯🇵🇵🇭 China didn’t "send a message," it delivered a verdict. “The atrocities must be remembered. The blood debts must be repaid. The justice must be delivered for crimes.” This is no longer the anger of civilians, it is the cold, institutional memory of a nation that buried 35 million of its people under fascist steel. The Pacific War never truly ended. How could it? Fascist Japan never truly confessed. And every attempt to revive militarism isn’t a threat to China, it is Japan digging up the corpse of its own past. As for the Philippines: When a nation that was slaughtered, starved, and enslaved now bows to the descendants of the same fascist empire… that’s not “moving on.” That’s colonial trauma wearing a fresh flag. They say China’s diplomacy is “getting sharper.” No, China is simply done pretending that history is a metaphor, it is an invoice, and overdue debts get collected. Fascism is not “returning” to Asia. It never left Japan, and China is reminding the region why it will never rise again.

🇨🇳🇯🇵 The issue isn’t that Japan has extremists every country does. The issue is that in Japan, these individuals are openly tolerated, indulged, and even protected. They wave Nazi flags and the Rising Sun Flag, marching through public streets year after year, with police escorting them, year after year. The Japanese government pretends these are merely “marginal voices,” but if the same flags appeared on the streets of Germany, the entire EU would treat it as a national crisis. What lies behind this is not the madness of a few individuals, but a deeply ingrained civilizational hierarchy. For decades, the West has attempted to sculpt a “tamed Japan” as East Asia’s model student, a counterweight to China and a way to shape a regional hierarchy. So they never confront Japan’s atrocities in Asia: crimes fully comparable to those of Nazi Germany: massacres, looting, human experimentation, all documented in UN archives. Post-war Germany chose repentance, but Japan chose amnesia. China waived Japan’s war reparations, and Japan repaid that gesture by recasting itself as a victim, even slandering the very nation that lost 35 million lives to its invasion. This is why Chinese people consider Japan a generational enemy. Not out of hatred, but out of memory. A nation that refuses remorse, refuses history, and even fantasizes about reviving its wartime glory will always be a threat to the next generation of Asia. China is a civilization with five thousand years of memory. Our history is not forgotten, it is inherited. Japanese fascism will never be allowed a second life in Asia, that is a civilizational duty etched into the bones of every Chinese generation.

China's Foreign Ministry to Japan: Is the Japanese side trying to repeat history… and once again become the source of disaster in East Asia? Japan has been making frequent, dangerous, reckless, and provocative moves… defying its dedication to peace. These remarks sound more like war mobilization and war cries. The international community will never accept this.

China has made it clear that the Taiwan question is China’s internal affair. If Japan interferes, they will pay the price. China is not the weak one a century ago. Remember what this parade is called? The 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

On Sept 2, 78 years ago, Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender. During the Anti-Japanese War, Chinese military and civilian casualties exceeded 35 million. Chinese people won't forget the history of blood&tears. This scene should be remembered the most by Japanese themselves.
