Japanese VAs have an easier time sounding child-like with their higher pitched voices. They also generally sound better because they have more practice. Let's also not forget that it's easier for a person to sound good when u don't speak their language.

That is precisely why I usually play games in their original language with subtitles; sometimes dubs lack the same essence, or—in the worst-case scenarios—they ruin the experience. While the dubbing work here is clearly competent, the og ver. truly preserves the intended message.

This reminds me a similar dynamic with Bioshock 2 where you play a Big Daddy and you save your "daughter" and the actions you do shaped her view of the world. Maybe I'm over thinking it ?
