Look, cash for babies isn’t going to fix this. Young people can’t afford a place to live, they’re expected to work themselves into the ground, and Japan still acts like marriage is the only way to have kids. That’s why births keep falling.I’d rather see cheaper housing for people in their 20s and 30s, less of this overtime-is-loyalty nonsense, and a controlled immigration policy now instead of waiting until hospitals and factories are begging for workers. That’s the only thing that actually slows it down.

Less daily traffic, zero smog, and pure clean oxygen for everyone remaining. Japan is in right direction.

It's okay. The indians are en route to help them out 👍

no one fucking cares.

I love japan. I hope there will be more japanese in the world. We need people like japanese in the world

They need to bring in immigrants and open up immigration to help with the workforce

Brent crude update

Após 2008? Crise subprime, seria relacionado à custos de moradia? Em todo lugar vejo que os custos de habitação são elevados no Japão. Talvez isso acarrete em desincentivos.

They should borrow some indians.

Japan is just the Western world’s demographic trailer; the US, UK, and EU are playing the exact same movie on a 15-year delay. 📉

The 2008 peak was 18 years ago. Every government since then expanded support and still missed the 2039 birth forecast by 15 years. At this point the interesting question isn’t “why is Japan shrinking?” It’s which country is next and still pretending it isn’t.

Hey Super, build a The workbench will simulate Japan's population dynamics, focusing on its shrinking demographics. It will feature an interactive D3.js multi-line trajectory chart and a live age-cohort distribution pyramid. Users can adjust parameters like fertility rate, life expectancy, retirement age, and net migration using sliders to see immediate recalculations. Visitors can select from policy presets such as 'Current Trajectory', 'High Fertility Incentive', 'Expanded Immigration', and 'Balanced Reform'. Alternatively, they can manually adjust parameters to observe the impact on population decline rates, worker-to-retiree dependency ratios, and labor force deficits up to the year 2076. The tool will have a responsive design with crimson-and-slate styling, accessible numerical inputs, and a one-click data export for CSV and JSON tables.

🇯🇵 JAPAN: Fertility Rate

And higher inflation. A bad mix
