So sad. I was a fort mac evacuee and the rude comments people made blaming it on oil and politics while I waited for my house to burn was awful. My heart goes out to the community of Jasper 💔

Let me educate you a bit. The Municipality of Jasper is Provincial Jasper National Park is Federal. Instead of pointing fingers at Smith or Trudeau, ask yourself "Why are these 2 not working TOGETHER?" It's like a parent saying "they will learn when they hurt themselves"

Firefighting is provincial, even in National Parks.

I grew up in Jasper and 50% of the controlled burns they'd do in the summer would become uncontrolled very quickly. It was the norm for the parks to mismanage fires.

Fort Mac burned… Watertown burned… and now Jasper….maybe we need more funds in this area
