jax kinda scared me here WHAT DOES HE KNOW????

@gwnday i think he was panicking because he was realizing everything was actually real because he was convinced he was in a dream

@asspissfart maybe....

@gwnday wait because in a previous episode he said this is all a dream and he says “none of this is real” a lot to defend himself

@gwnday WHOEVER TOLD ME HE WAS MOCKING POMNI I SAW YOU AND I HEARD YOU AND I LOVE YOU 🗣️ i forgot he was saying that in direction towards her

he genuinely sounds sick to his stomach like omg

yall im not buying that he thought it was a dream the ENTIRE time, hes been there for YEARS atp. there has to be a caveat like he thought he was in a coma the entire time (CAR CRASH?) or something to do with his entry into the circus

@gwnday he seems to be freaking out because he realizing almost everything Able said was true. In the beginning he said it was all fake but then realizes it's all real

@gwnday I think he started to panic because Kinger was falling out of the archetype Jax placed him into, aka the "crazy one." When Jax realized that Kinger can be sane, he starts realizing that everyone is real and not a bunch of cartoon characters with specific personality roles.

@gwnday Personally I think he disassociated so much to the point he might have genuinely believed everything happening was fake and that it became very true to him in this moment that things are indeed not fake and are very much real

@gwnday It's not that he knows something. It's that Kinger no longer fell into his archetype, and he realized that there's a person there, not just a kooky character. It's real, and it's all been real, the whole time, and he's freaking out about it.

@gwnday I thought he worked in c&a or something??? Thats where my mind went

he said he wasn't a c&a employee last episode though...? maybe hes talking about the company being real and it has something to do with how he got stuck in the circus

@gwnday Yeah i forgot but thats what i thought of lol

@gwnday Or he had involvement 😭 seems like he knows SOMETHING

@gwnday He doesnt “know” anything. His whole thing is that his coping mechanism is treating this whole thing like it’s not real, like nothing matters. But kinger actually talking about Caine and Jax hearing it made him realize how serious this is, it broke the illusion for him.

@gwnday He's convinced he lives as a fake npc or that none of this is real and he can defy logical rules by hurting others and stuff. But he's realizing this is REAL and that he's actually trapped here

@gwnday I feel like it's a mixture of him seeing his copying mechanism being destroyed in real time and the fear of Caine finding out about this conversation, he leaves bc he's panicking about both of these things imo

@gwnday Oh, my full name? Jax Scratch..

@gwnday i think it was moreso him realizing also his entire coping mechanism is completely wrong because kinger the “crazy one” was completely sane here

@gwnday I have a theory that I commented on other post that I’m just gonna put here because I think it’s really interesting somehow (sorry for spelling mistakes)

Jax is 100% derealized/depersonalized due to trauma. He consistently responds like he's attacked whenever anything makes him confront reality: Pomni's friendship, believing they could exit the circus with the red button, and Kinger's revelations. Realizing he's a person and his situation is really happening is too much for him to take, and he avoids or reacts violently because having his protective coping mechanism ripped off him is too painful to even consider.

@gwnday When you’re trapped in a digital fantasy world for so long, you start putting yourself in denial and think you’re in a dream that you’ll eventually wake up from. Once the reality hits that everything is real, he broke down but was still willing to distract Caine like he said.

@gwnday He’s realizing that Kinger is not the archetype he placed him into. His coping mechanism is being shattered

@gwnday he is also one of the few that knows he can mess with the way the world works, he even told Pomni how to use it in a sense, he knows how to make the world bend to his will, even if barely

@gwnday he found out his actions had consequences

@gwnday Idk why but when I saw this scene for the first time, my mind assumed that since Kaufmo was obsessed with finding a way out, he might have discovered some things along the way and told Jax about them. Jax probably didn’t believe him and even treated him like he was crazy,

@gwnday Nah oomf he was just being faced with the reality its all real. Its calling back to ep 7 too where with abel he had every right to think it was all an adventure. This time its actually real. Jax doesnt "think hes in a dream" he's just been dissociated for years

@gwnday I'm gonna bet high now. My theory is that Ribbit told Jax similar things to what Kinger said, but at the time, Jax didn't believe her, calling her crazy, which caused her abstraction. This could explain why he was so scared

@gwnday hes been coping with gaslighting himself it's all fake and nothing matters. but thanks to kinger he no longer has an excuse but to accept everything is real. meaning he could have prevented kaufmo and ribbit from abstracting

@gwnday Nothing. They just hinted that Jax knows lots of secrets about the circus but that wasn't the case at all. That was a red herring . Kinger is the knowledgeable one. I don't think Jax knows anything. What I think is that the reality of the circus is finally crashing down on him.

@gwnday Ohhh he’s definitely know more than he’s leading on? I wonder if the stuff we saw in the last episode correlates. Maybe c&a made him an unwilling participant to their computer stuff after he got in a car crash, and promised him he won’t feel any more when they were finished w him

@gwnday Looking at scratch, I notice he kinda looks like Jax But in an opposite way, Scratch only wears a shirt while Jax only wears pants They definitely have some connection

@gwnday He was remembering things from the real world before. I’m assuming he’s coming to terms with the fact that not only his actions having actual consequences, but that his uncomfortable memories are real too.

@gwnday I think it’s because Jax realizes Kinger isn’t crazy, but he actually is smart.

@gwnday he genuinely thought the entire circus either 1. was a dream 2. was a simulation with no real people

@gwnday i'm pretty sure this is him recollecting on the fact that the cna stuff is confirmed from the most unexpected source, atleast from his perspective

@gwnday he's second generation of C&A. He knows the physical people of the original C&A programmers are alive and well, that's why he says it's real, because he's trying to convince himself of a lie, his common coping technique

@gwnday I think he has suspected the truth for a while now but as usual deflects from reality by convincing himself it is a lie. Now that he is faced with actual evidence that cannot be a lie, his illusion is broken. He can’t convince himself to ignore the truth any longer

@gwnday his coping mechanism for being trapped was him thinking the whole place was a cartoony fake place with no real people, after what he heard kinger say all of that, he realized this is real. these are real people trapped in a digital word

@gwnday I think he was just afraid like how he is the cause for ribbit's abstractions thinking all of the show is "a dream"

@gwnday my first thought was he’s scratch but now that the arrival dates are going around i’m unsure tbh

@gwnday I won't say "dream" more like convinced everything is just a video game and nothing is real So since it happens to be real it triggered him
