Let’s use this as a teachable moment… “The Dynasty” was supposed to be a Roc-A-Fella Records compilation album. “Parking Lot Pimpin’” was supposed to be the first single. They were ready to shoot the video for it and at the very last minute Lenny S (who was serving as an A&R for Roc at the time) called Jay and told him that Pharrell had just made the most incredible beat and hook. Omilio Sparks (who wasn’t even signed yet) had an IDEA for a HOOK. No beat, no verses, no song. Just an IDEA for a hook. Jay liked his idea and had Sparks AND Pharrell combine their ideas and do the hook TOGETHER. Once “I Just Wanna Love U” was completed, Jay immediately notified Def Jam that “Parking Lot Pimpin’” was no longer the lead single and “Dynasty” was changed to be a Jay-Z solo album. Sparks was properly credited as a writer for his contribution to the song. He was featured on the video, and was even given a production credit on the record. The story has remained consistent from day one. You’ll hardly ever find Jay contradicting himself. And other people’s recollections of these stories always align with his. Even when they’re at odds with him.

Jay Z was lyrically ass for years at first, and that's okay because he improved tremendously. Everyone works at their own pace; he ended up becoming a hall of fame lyricist, and that's what matters most. By the time Jay Z hit 70 years old in 95, he was above average lyrically. His improvement should be studied. The most improved award should go to him. However, during the years Jay Z was lyrically ass, 2Pac was already well above average lyrically, and that includes teenage Pac. As Jay Z improved, 2Pac was ascending to levels even higher than the levels he had reached before. 2Pac hasn't physically been on this Earth since 96, and Jay Z still hasn't surpassed him lyrically. All of this is why I said that 2Pac has always been a better lyricist than Jay Z, and I believe he always will be. I view 2Pac as the greatest lyricist of all time; that's what the stan bases of these rappers don't understand. I have made posts about multiple other rappers being inferior lyricists to Pac; Jay Z isn't the first or the last rapper that I've said Pac is a better lyricist than. The definition of lyricism fits this man's work more than anyone else's.

At the peak of Carter V anticipation and the Cash Money lawsuit with Lil Wayne and Birdman, he released the Free Weezy album (FWA) as an exclusive to TIDAL, Jay-Z's company. Jay-Z would later sell TIDAL for 300 million, making 6x the 50 million that he had paid for it, and getting to be on the board of Square with Jack Dorsey (founder of Cash App and Twitter). And then, when the opportunity came to have Lil Wayne do a performance at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, he stiff-arms him and puts Kendrick Lamar there instead. (Ye also contributed an exclusive in The Life of Pablo, and both of these albums drove a significant amount of users to Tidal. But with how disrespectful Ye has gotten, speaking out about Jay-Z, and then more recently about his children, it's to be expected that Jay-Z doesn't do anything for him or even speak to him. But Lil Wayne has never uttered a single word about Jay and only shown him love, including throwing up the ROC during this era. )

Former NFL running back, and former close friend of rapper Jay Z — Larry Johnson, gives his critical analysis of Jay Z’s interview with GQ… Johnson says Jay Z keeps showing the world who he is, and some chose not to believe him… Johnson starts off by saying, “I do not have beef with this man (Jay Z) or his wife (Beyoncé); they have always treated me with respect and hospitality. He even supported me when no other brands, at the time of my professional career, would touch me. I have no regrets with my involvement with ROC-A-Wear, team ROC, and the relationships I formed. But, those things had to die off because I chose a different path. He (Jay Z) chose darkness and Satan. Let’s not forget the history: 📅 2013: Jay-Z Partners With Samsung When Jay-Z released Magna Carta Holy Grail, he partnered with Samsung in an effort to create an alternative path outside of Apple’s ecosystem. When an actor plays a dancer on-screen, especially a classical dancer, expectations are huge. I can think of two male actors who were great in this regard. Kamal Hassan was a trained dancer and pulled off a milestone like Sagara Sangamam in the 1980s. But a good actor ( though an untrained dancer) can get basic training and convey the idea before the camera. An actor has to just make you believe that he is a dancer. He cannot do with a year's training what a dancer does after a decade's regimen. Look at this dance from Kamaladalam. Mohanlal isn't a dancer but he has understood dance enough to enact on-screen and his understanding is conveyed in the clip shared by Revolutionary Monk He learnt the basics of the dance to "act" like a dancer from Nattuvan Paramasivam. Mohanlal upped the act a few years later as the ageing Kathakali artiste in Vanaprastham, for which he trained under the legendary Kalamandalam Gopi. You need to be convincing on screen. That's enough for an actor. Don't fail even with the basics and the choreographer and director have the responsibility to ensure they don't look like a parody on the big screen.

I’ve worked well with him in his past service. But I was really disappointed by his comments about who won in 2020. And I was concerned by him acting like he didn’t know much about Tulsi Gabbard’s intervention in Georgia, taking some of the ballots from the 2020 election. If this were a different administration, he wouldn’t be my candidate. But, as you said, Bill Pulte is a disaster. Again, I want to see what the president says tonight and whether anybody on the Republican side will have the courage to push back if it’s an outrageous lie.
