Follow up to Jay's speech. This is the mission statement I've had on the site for 15 years. There is spectating and then there is integration into a community (physical and digital)

Your attitude should be gratitude. Should be inclusive, not exclusive. This "ideal" ain't ideal.

This is cool and all but unless and until hardcore shows are safe for everyone this ethos goes out the window.

I grew up in Boston Massachusetts and from 1998-2008 there were literally no hardcore bands. What the hell was I supposed to do!?!

I guess being a single parent and not having the time/energy/funds to go to hardcore shows means I'm just a poser and I'm not allowed to enjoy this music. I'll keep that in mind when I'm stoked to listen to a new hardcore band, I buy merch online, or an album on Bandcamp

People who dislike this take have never, and will never do anything for hardcore. They come and they take and they think it’s theirs. Keep talking about how you disagree on the internet, it’s all you’ll ever do.
