Jay Park shared how LNGSHOT’s second mixtape came to life The idea started when he played LNGSHOT’s first mixtape to producer Hwimin. After listening, Hwimin told him that while the music was good, he expected a mixtape to feel a little more raw, energetic, and unfiltered. That comment stuck... with them. Since they had been making music that was relatively smooth and easy-listening, they decided to take a different approach and create something with more grit and intensity. Jay also explained that the goal was never to make a song that would go viral. Instead, they wanted to create a project that felt complete as an album and reflected their artistic vision. Being here on these steps feels spiritual to me. I’ve stared at the Salad Days cover since I learned of Minor Threat when I was 14. I think back to that first mixtape Jared Hein gave me in class sophomore year of highschool. Hearing Minor Threat on that tape for the first time opened a new door I didn’t even know existed. It pulled me into a world that felt raw, honest, and completely alive. The Salad Days cover. Those steps. It resonates with all of us who came up in this scene. It is more than an image. It is a feeling, a moment, a shared memory. This is my second time here. The first was over 20 years ago, and I can’t find that photo anywhere. So I had to take this one for myself. Just to reconnect. To bring myself back to the music and to that version of me that first felt it. Walking up to the Dischord Records house really does feel spiritual and like a time portal to when I was a teenager and all I cared about was going to shows and listening to records with my friends. Sitting on these steps, you can feel the history in a way that is hard to explain. One day I will meet Ian MacKaye. That would be a dream.

Y’all need to understand that the topic of “Mixtape Mount Rushmore” literally wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for 50 Cent, he created the blueprint. Before 50, what we know as a “mixtape” didn’t exist. Artists would just send some bars over someone else’s beat to DJs for their tapes. 50 turned them into his own records, he started to re-do people’s hooks and make it an entire song of his own, put on his own self titled tape. He was touring internationally off mixtapes that had no money or promo behind them, which led to a million dollar deal. He changed the way the entire industry operated. 50’s mixtape run is unmatched, the impact itself along with the quantity he put out is ridiculous. The quality was there too, majority of his best work came from mixtapes. So while you debate who deserves a spot, remember that there would be no mixtapes to debate if it wasn’t for him. And yes I know everyone has their own opinion and that’s great, I just wanted to bring this to attention.

Yes on the videos we have so far. The initial encounter was him filming them. There was no gun being brandished. They jumped out of vehicles to go to try to intimidate him. Unfortunately there's no video yet between then and when they had them on the ground. When they had him on the ground they were pistol whipping him, at first it looked like a baton, but it's actually a gun. They had him down with at least five officers. You got to wait for a second so he tried to stand up they shot him in the back he was motionless after they shot him in the back. Then there were four more shots or more after that unloaded into his body from a posture of standing above him. Not a defensive posture. He's supposedly has a gun. It looks like ICE took something out of a holster. So it's likely that he did have a HOLSTERED GUN in an open carry state that is not a reason to shoot someone to death.
