Yes that was the primary read but at the same time the flat was wide open 9 times out of 10 white beats the man to corner or atleast can cut back in. But you are right the TE is the read and the center definitely missed the block it kinda like a choice route in that situation

Exactly. People are perfect players from the couch. In realtime that’s a split second decision and he wanted to execute the play. The other route was a dummy route to fool the defense but it didn’t work
