In my little corner of Podunk, Illinois.. 50 years ago we had a steel mill employing c.4,000, a few plants making builders hardware, garage doors, screws and fasteners with another 2,000. They all paid property tax, subsidized utilities, etc. 15% tariffs on imported manufactured products is entirely justified.
