Now let’s talk about Vance. He leaked his disagreement with Trump on the Iran strikes to CBS News. He did it because he’s positioning himself for 2028 and he needs to create daylight between himself and this decision. But here’s the problem. Where was Vance on Venezuela? Not in the situation room. Not at Mar-a-Lago where the actual decisions were being made. In my opinion Vance is on the outs. Whether you like it or not. Rubio is in — for now. But that’s the thing about Trump world. He told them to flood the coal mines and bring down the electrical grid around Berlin. His rationale was: If I can’t have it, nobody gets it. That’s Donald Trump’s psychology with the Republican Party. He doesn’t quietly want them to win after he’s gone. His whole identity is built on the narrative that you were nothing before I got here and you’ll be nothing when I leave. He’s not going to campaign for his successor. It’s not in his personality. And no, not like Donald Trump. Nobody will ever match Trump. On Vance’s current trajectory, I can see him forming his own lane and posing an existential threat to the Democrat Party as we know it. Trump is the bulldog with brute force and relentless persistence. Vance is what comes after. Trump has paved the path with the American public for someone like JD Vance to use that opening to fatally dismantle any remaining arguments the left has on most issues that matter to the public — especially domestic ones.
