Why do I use AI as an artist? Because the latent space of Artificial Imagination is the area of all possible images. In it are contained all the images of the world, past and future. In it, there are images of the resistance fighters of the Paris Commune happy because they were victorious. In it, there are paintings by Van Gogh made after he was 37 years old. In it, Nazi Germany lost the war in 1940. Ultimately, within it reside images of wishes, utopias, which we can bring to life thanks to this exploration of the latent space offered to us. If we do not do this, we will remain imprisoned in the homogeneous and empty hell of the repetition of the same already proposed by the infernal universe of consumerism. This is why we must respond to the new technical virtualities offered by AI. We must seize it by inventing new forms. That's what I'm working on.

Keir Starmer: We need to deal with AI bots. This is something relatively new, and we saw with Grok—did you see the thing with Grok just the other week? An AI bot that allowed you to instruct it to undress people—and it did. It was disgusting, absolutely disgusting. We went into battle on that because I thought this is not good enough. We went into battle, we made the necessary steps, we threatened action, and we won that battle in relation to Grok. But we've got to do it with all AI bots, and we will do it. We can do that by amending some of the legislation that we've already got in place.

While this is obviously from a Southern perspective, it has become the perspective of all Americans as all of our homelands— birthplaces, neighborhoods and the burial grounds of our forefathers— have been mercilessly invaded by a foreign horde who regard it all as a dot on the map to which they can come to get free stuff while transforming it into the hellhole they came from. Every tree in which we climbed and carved our names stands in the way of a new housing development. Every stream in which we swam and fished is a dumping ground. And every town square is ripe for a third world bazaar. These people will never care like we do. It is not their home, they are not Americans, and they never will be. And they have to go back.

I think the narrative on AI is very much that occurred when television went to color and everybody said it would wipe out radio. It didn't happen. It's a tool. It's a tool for productivity and margin enhancement. It's just starting to get utilized in all 11 sectors of the economy. My companies use it. But it's nowhere near the disruptor that people think. I'm more concerned about Chinese on AI because they have unlimited power. They are not restricted to set up coal-burning electrical plants. We can't do that. AI right now, for me, is a competition on defense and the military in China. I worry that we're falling behind the Chinese on power on our grid, and we haven't addressed it yet. We do not have policy that lets us build out at the same pace they are.

When we choose to conduct both our public and personal lives with bad behaviour and rascality, we normalise bad behaviour, lawlessness, and criminality. I watched a heartbreaking video that showed students in Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State running for their lives as they were being shot at during their student election yesterday which left 2 students dead and several injured. The question is: Where did they learn it from? Are they cursed, or are we the political leaders who are cursed? When we have chosen to "fight, snatch it, grab it, and run with it" how can we expect our children to do it rightly and democratically when they have learned from us? This is not just disgraceful, it’s a national indictment. When we, the leaders, have chosen to fight, snatch, grab and run with it, our children have learned similar and rascality is now a normal situation. It is now up to us, the leaders, to learn how to restore civility, order, and core values in our society by ensuring that our character and behaviour reflect the change we seek in our society. We must do better, for our students, for our children, and for our country. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

This is chilling and uncomfortable. But, I get it. In a weird but compelling way, I get it. As a people, we move on. We move to the next headline quickly. We are shocked, we lament, protest, etc but eventually ... WE MOVE ON. This AI rendering of a story is morbid and uncomfortable... And even triggering. But, dammit, maybe this is what is needed. Evil gets shielded and protected by our need to not want to be confronted by truths that make us uncomfortable. How many stories of families hiding traumas and crimes of familial culprits because they don't want to expose the shame of umdeni? What does that do but protect perpetrators? Our discomfort about our reality can be a hindrance to accountability. The shame and discomfort should be reserved for the culprit. We are surprised how recidivism is so high in Mzansi, but we forget that we protect criminals' dignity more than the victims'. There is a lot that is cringe-y about AI and it should be regulated. This, though chilling, I feel it is a necessary evil if it will make Olorato and many like her not to become old news because today we have moved on to a new shocking headline. Remember her and live with the reality that you or someone you love and/or know may be next.
