Dana Bash just put Maryland Governor Wes Moore on the SPOT for pushing a redistricting plan that would wipe out the ONLY Republican-held congressional seat in the state. When Moore said he’s urging the Maryland Senate to move forward on redistricting, Bash asked the question he clearly wasn’t expecting: “How is it good for democracy to pursue a map that makes your state even less representative?” Moore tried to dress it up as a pro-democracy move — but Bash wasn’t having it. MOORE: “It is important that states like Maryland that have the ability to look at their maps, that we have a chance to do it.” “And it is why I’m urging the Maryland Senate to to let democracy not die in the free state and allow a vote to happen on the Maryland Senate.” That’s when Bash cut straight to the point. I just announced that the State of Maryland and the City of Baltimore will be restoring their public safety partnership. The last administration broke this partnership and turned its back on Baltimore, and people suffered. We are moving differently. We aren’t deploying citizen soldiers to patrol our streets. We aren’t papering over housing insecurity by sending in the National Guard. We are bringing people together.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Haven Shoemaker, state attorney for Maryland’s Carroll County, said that after decades in public service, he is "sick to death" of the policies that "emanate" from the state capital in Annapolis. He said he is especially disgusted with Maryland’s "sanctuary" policies and the high taxes he said are being levied in part to pay for more services for illegal immigrants. "Maryland has become California on the Chesapeake," said Shoemaker. "It only gets worse. It's not getting better. And at some point, I just had to make a personal decision that it's time to throw in the towel and head for what I believe are greener pastures." Shoemaker is not the only one. He said that he sees Marylanders giving up on the state "all the time." "The State of Maryland has one of the worst outward migration numbers of any state in the country right now," he said.
