Jenna from Milwaukee calls into Dave RamseyShow seeking advice on her 401(k). She explains that her financial advisor has recommended she stop contributing to her company’s Roth 401(k) and switch to a traditional 401(k) instead, claiming her income level would yield significant tax savings today. Dave immediately tells Jenna she needs a new financial advisor who can actually do math. After figuring out that the 40 year old Jenna plans to max out her contributions at about $24,000 a year, Dave projects that she will amass roughly $3.1 million by age 65. He highlights the massive flaw in her advisor's logic: The advisor is hyper focused on saving taxes on her $600,000 principal contribution today. By choosing a traditional plan, Jenna avoids tax now but sets herself up to pay a massive tax bill on the remaining $2.5 million in growth when she retires. Dave calls this fundamentally "bad math". Dave uses his own situation as a 65 year old multi millionaire to explain the ultimate benefit of the Roth. With a Roth, he doesn't face required minimum distributions (RMDs) at age 72.5, and the wealth passes to his heirs completely tax-free. Conversely, he warns that under current laws (like the Secure Act), inheriting a massive traditional IRA forces the heirs to withdraw the entire balance within 10 years. In Jenna's scenario, her kids would be hit with an astronomical tax burden effectively paying income taxes on roughly $300,000 a year for a decade. Dave concludes by expressing utter disbelief that a professional financial advisor could make a recommendation that results in paying "light years more taxes" over time.

🔥🚨BREAKING NEWS: Jaylenn Earls, the 13-year-old girl in Cincinnati who was missing after being last seen on a family’s ring camera with a black eye, running from her step dad barging into another families house while being chased down has been found safe with an unbelievable twist that has the entire internet divided. In the post made in Harrison Happenings, the girl’s name was revealed to be Jaylenn Earls and she is one of the two daughters of Tiffany Johnson. The original poster was Jordan Adams, who later mentioned that missing Jaylenn Earls stood at the height of 5 ft 3 inches and weighed about 120 lbs. The girl, Jaylenn Earls, came running to Adams’s house crying, asking for help, saying, “He’s coming,” referring to her mom’s boyfriend. Jaylenn Earls, who pushed past Adams’ husband into their home, had a black eye and was running for her life. According to the Facebook post, he tried to talk to calm her down with their two older kids there. In the Facebook post, Jaylenn’s mom, Tiffany commented that the people had wrong everything about her. Tiffany assured them that they would find Jaylenn and also revealed that all these were happening because they told her she couldn’t run the streets and date older men. Also, Jaylenn’s sister, Jenna Earls also came forward to explain what had actually happened. Jenna revealed that her sister, Jaylenn, had run away from home, put her hands on their mom, and had been very disrespectful. Jenna further explained that their mom wouldn’t allow Jaylenn Earls to wear revealing clothes, run the streets, drink & smoke, and date older men. Jaylenn had apparently snuck a 17-year-old guy into their mom’s house while sleeping and had sexual intercourse. Jenna revealed that they had screenshots of her Instagram posts and messages, revealing the truth behind the fiasco. However, they seem to have deleted the comments, and Jaylenn has not said much. Speaking of the guy chasing her, many Reddit users commented that the guy could be Nathaniel Bickel, who had domestic violence charges. She stated, “The videos that’s surfacing of her getting chased was her running from the 17-year-old boys house after cops arrived. While online updates about Jaylenn Earls claim that she is now safe and no longer missing, her own statement on social media tells another story. Taking to the Instagram story with a ring video, she wrote how her mother’s boyfriend touched her inappropriately. Jaylenn Earls goes on to say that she informed her mother, Tiffany, but she instead called her a liar and did not believe her. She says she even informed the Police officials and child protective services multiple times, but they did not do anything. “They didn’t want to hear what I had to say only because I’m a child police kept sending me back with my mom and her boyfriend,” Jaylenn Earls added. While there is no proof or any official news from the local Police about the case, Jaylenn Earls’ mother and sister deny these accusations against her. Regardless of it, the internet seems divided with some buying Jaylenn’s side of story while others are criticizing her acts.

She is 68 years old! A fully disabled U.S. Army veteran with advanced Parkinson’s disease was arrested and jailed twice for calling 911 when she could not get out of bed, reach her medication, or get water. Her name is Diane Gerrish. She is 68 years old and lives alone in Midway, Georgia. Between June 2025 and March 2026 she called 911 approximately 140 times for basic needs she could no longer manage because of her disease. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office contacted Adult Protective Services multiple times. APS visited once. On that single visit she declined help while she was mobile. After that, the system’s solution was to arrest her for misuse of 911. She was taken from her bed, placed in a wheelchair, and hauled to jail. When she missed court, they jailed her again. She pleaded guilty and was put on probation with a ban on non-emergency 911 calls. This is not accountability or leadership. This is the complete opposite. A fully disabled veteran who clearly could not care for herself ended up in handcuffs instead of receiving the in-home care or nursing placement she qualified for. Common sense never kicked in. The people standing in her house defaulted to the criminal process instead of forcing the care system to do its job. The VA had a clinic minutes away and a full medical center a short drive from her. The Sheriff’s Office says they reached out. The VA has given no public explanation. Imagine that! This is the same pattern we keep seeing: veterans who need long-term care the most are failed by the very systems that exist to protect them. Veterans FIRST. Always Move Forward. Semper Fi. Here we go again! VA Secretary Doug Collins Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System Veterans Affairs Georgia House Democrats Rep. ❤️🤩 Sometimes it takes an army, an army of rescuers, local people, vets, and compassionate individuals to achieve something truly amazing. On Friday evening, while we were in the middle of trying to find Eleanor, another emergency was unfolding in Offaly. A poor horse had become trapped in a bog. MLPR Welfare Officer, Cathy, headed to Offaly with the horse van to help. When she arrived, she was overwhelmed by the number of people who had come together to save this horse. It was incredible to see so many people giving their time, skills, and compassion. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jenna for raising the alarm, to Leinster Horse and Pony Rescue, to the NSPCA Longford, and especially David Murray from Ballylinch Stud. David was outstanding. He coordinated, remained calm under pressure, and worked tirelessly alongside everyone involved. This rescue is proof of what can be achieved when everyone works together. If we could bring this same level of cooperation to every welfare case, Ireland's animal welfare crisis would be a very different story. We're delighted to say the horse made a full recovery and was able to go home with her owner. A special thank you also goes to the two vets involved, the Department of Agriculture, and the local vet who knew the pony and helped ensure she received the care she needed. Thank you to every single person who played a part. It was an extraordinary rescue and a wonderful reminder that, when people come together, amazing things really can happen. ❤️ ❤️🤩❤️🤩 She is home now and is making great recovery ❤️

“I don't believe Claude Code will exist in its current form in six months” Benۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗۗ☁️, CEO & Co-Founder Freestyle, thinks coding agents are moving from local machines to the cloud, where a single task could get the attention of 20+ agents at once. Each gets a complete copy of your stack, production environment included. Each can spend a week testing and refining its approach. You compare the results and take the best one forward. The economics aren’t there yet. Ben expects cost per task to fall another 99% over the next four years, making that level of parallel work practical. Freestyle builds the computers for it: full Linux VMs for tasks that run for hours, days, or weeks. Clone a running machine, memory included, and let agents pursue different approaches from the same starting point. Pause and resume with their state intact. Inside Freestyle, Ben already gives agents a week to find improvements to its VM technology. Roughly 700 tests and 90 metrics help the team judge whether the work made things better. this is what 12 gigs of VRAM built in 2026. a 9 billion parameter model running on a 5 year old RTX 3060 wrote a full space shooter from a single prompt. blank screen on first try. i came back with a bug list and the same model on the same card fixed every issue across 11 files without touching a single line myself. enemies still looked wrong so i pushed another iteration and now the game has pixel art octopi, particle effects, screen shake, projectile physics and a combo system. all running locally on a card that was designed to play fortnite. three iterations. zero cloud. zero API calls. every token generated on hardware sitting under my desk. the model reads its own code, finds what's broken, patches it, validates syntax and restarts the server. i just describe what's wrong and it handles the rest. people are paying monthly subscriptions to type into a browser tab and wait for a server farm to respond. meanwhile a GPU you can find used on ebay is running a full autonomous hermes agent framework with 31 tools, 128K context window and thinking mode generating at 29 tokens per second nonstop. the game still needs work. level upgrades don't trigger and boss fights need tuning. but the fact that i'm iterating on gameplay balance instead of debugging whether the code runs at all tells you where this is headed. every iteration the game gets better on the same hardware. same 12 gigs. same 9 billion parameters. same RTX 3060 from 5 years ago your GPU is not a gaming card anymore. it's a local AI lab that never sends your data anywhere.

I’ve talked about this on tiktok so I’m gonna talk about it here as well. My mom sexually assaulted me when I was a child. I’ve called her out on this for a long time & been labeled a liar. I decided to go get a lie detector test & I managed to pass. My mother took a lie detector test & failed… She had an excuse as to why she failed too, listen below & tell me if it makes sense. I was around 9-11, all I remember is her doing this to me & how it went down. My mother was extremely homophobic & any time I did something she deemed feminine, she would try to punish me for it. This one specific time I was using the family computer with the daughter of a woman who was living with my mom at the time. I decided to play Fancy by iggy azalea & I was singing along, my mom calls out to ask “who’s playing that” so I come to her as she called out & when she asked I lied to her…I was scared so I told her the little girl was playing the song. She called the little girl in the room and asked her instead of me. The little girl proceeded to tell my mother how it wasn’t her who was playing the song & it was me. My mother thrusts at me & starts beating me mercilessly. Screaming “you wanna be a bitch?!” “This what you want?!” & as she’s beating me she shoved her finger inside me saying “you like d*ck in yo a** b*tch?!” Her boyfriend at the time had to pull her off of me & tell her to stop. I even remember her going to wash the fecal matter off of her finger. I may not get the legal justice I deserve but I will continue to tell my story to be an advocate for people who faced something similar with really no safe space to speak on it. I allowed her to condition me to think for years that I had to forgive her, we had to work on our relationship because “we were all we had” but I was being lied to by the narcissist I call a mother. There was no work that would ever be done, just me tolerating stuff I don’t have to while keeping secrets that aren’t mine. Help me get my story out there, I have 3 younger siblings & she’s been exploiting them & I for monetary gain on the internet since I was a child. Every time I did something she didn’t like she would broadcast it to her followers on Facebook. Now I’ve built my own platform, now my voice can truly be heard.

This Detroit Mother Lives Among Duggan's Poisoned Dirt Holes The former mayor claimed he cleaned everything up, but she calls it a "lie" as gaping holes collect rainwater and trash on both sides of her house By Charlie LeDuff Charlie LeDuff There is a working mother on Detroit’s east side with four young babies. Andrea Smith should be worried about the price of gas and formula and diapers. But that’s the least of it. She’s more concerned about the gaping demolition holes on each side of her house, filled with muck and rainwater and debris. “Mayor, clean this up,” she fumed. “I got four kids, what if my kids fall in here?” As far as Ms. Smith is concerned, Mike Duggan belongs nowhere near the governor’s mansion. He belongs in a defendant’s chair. The city of Detroit, under his 12-year stewardship, finds itself the victim of a mass poisoning of unknown proportions. Toxic dirt was used to fill the city’s demolition holes. And Duggan, by all accounts, pushed his demolition executives to the breaking point so he might have something good to campaign on as he makes a run to become Michigan’s next governor. But the mud pie has exploded in his face. With no real plan to fix things, Duggan and the new administration of Mayor Mary Sheffield engage in stupidity and budgetary sleight-of-hand to keep a lid on an environmental scandal that could rival Flint. Some quick but necessary background here. The U.S. Treasury Department in 2014 sent $260 million to the city of Detroit to help eradicate its enormous blight. Demolition contractors were allowed by Duggan to charge whatever they wanted for “clean” soil to fill the holes. Incredulously, no receipts or proof of purchase were required. That is until federal agents caught the contractors and fined the city $5 million. The city agreed, going forward, to require invoice receipts for the dirt. But the city never did collect those receipts. Once again, in 2021, the Treasury Department spanked the city over $13 million in bogus dirt. Duggan, who’s dodged more grand juries in his career than John Gotti, settled with the U.S. government for $1.5 million. Duggan then pushed for another $250 million from Detroit taxpayers to continue his blight crusade. And again, neither he nor his minions required proof that the dirt was clean. More than 27,000 houses were demolished under the stewardship of the Teflon Leprechaun, and people like Ms. Smith have no idea just how bad things are in their neighborhoods. So far, the city has admitted to 600 suspect holes and is now in the process of testing them. But how do we know that’s the extent of it? Remember, Duggan never required the demolition contractors to provide proof of the origin of the dirt going back a dozen years. Is it hundreds of lots? Thousands? Tens of thousands? We could be talking about hundreds of millions of dollars in clean-up costs. And now we come to find out that Duggan’s hand-picked minority contractor, Brian McKinney of the Gayanga Company, was allowed to illegally work without construction insurance. Current Mayor Mary Sheffield certainly knew of this. She was dating the guy, after all, while simultaneously voting to award millions in contracts. So now, the taxpayer is on the hook, having to pay twice for the same dirty jobs. Just a few weeks ago, Duggan was cornered by the press, who are suddenly interested in dirt. “As of December 31st when I left office, every single site that had been tested at elevated contaminants had been removed and clean dirt replaced,” said an exasperated Duggan, who looked like he’d been beaten with a feather pillow. Naturally, this was a lie. Just take a trip to Tacoma Street and ask Andrea Smith who is living with her four children in a hellscape of incompetence and danger. No less than eight gaping holes blight her street. The toxic dirt was removed last November as Duggan claimed. But no clean dirt has been poured to fill them. Instead, there are craters the size of municipal swimming pools. With the spring ground thawing, the holes have transmogrified into a quagmire of clay and rock. If a dog fell in, it wouldn’t be able to crawl out, much less a toddler. “It’s been like this for a minute,” said Smith. “How long?” I asked. “Since before Christmas.” “What?” “Before Christmas,” she emphasized. “Well, the mayor said he cleaned it all up.” “No.” “It’s a lie?” I asked. “Yes, it’s a lie,” she answered. “You gonna vote for him for governor?” “No.” With the dirt scandal spreading across the region, Ms. Smith’s solitary vote is the least of Duggan’s worries.

Michelle and Gideon Roos, a couple from the Stellenbosch/Somerset West area in South Africa, were the 9th victims in a series of armed robberies carried out by the same group of four Black men over the past two weeks. On the evening of 29 May 2026, at around quarter past seven as the sun was setting, Michelle and Gideon Roos were relaxing on their stoep (veranda), braaiing (barbecuing), and speaking on the phone with Michelle's parents when their dog Charlie began barking. Michelle sensed something was wrong and alerted her father. Within seconds, four Black men wearing balaclavas and thick rubber gloves stormed the property. The attackers threw Gideon onto the grass. One immediately grabbed the phone from Michelle's hand, ripped her pearl earrings from her ears, and pulled her wedding rings off her fingers. They forced Gideon into the house and into the bedroom, where they tied him up. Michelle and Gideon repeatedly pleaded, "Please, please don’t hurt us." While three of the men ransacked the cupboards, shouting "Money, money!", one stood holding Michelle's gold jewelry. Gideon was forced onto the bed. The attacker with the pistol focused on Michelle. She handed over her handbag and wallet with what little cash she had. The man also grabbed Gideon's wallet. When Michelle tried to negotiate to keep their ID's and licenses, he shoved her onto the bed and agreed curtly. Gideon attempted to direct them to money in his cupboard but struggled to speak clearly. One attacker, armed with a long bent Y-dropper tool resembling a crowbar, stood threateningly behind Gideon, visibly irritated and ready to strike. Fearing for her husband's life, Michelle told him to stay quiet. She then dropped to the ground, offering to help the robbers by searching through the scattered belongings herself and handing over valuables, saying things like "Do you want this? This is worth so much!" to de-escalate the situation. The man with the pistol pulled Michelle back onto the bed. When she tried to reach the panic button, he caught her, threw her down, and ordered her to sit next to her husband. Michelle feared she was about to be assaulted. The attackers continued their search. One ripped Michelle's precious gold cross necklace from her neck despite Gideon's plea that it was from God. They took Gideon's bakkie (truck) keys, with one briefly going to the vehicle before returning. After holding the couple for 15-20 minutes, the group fled. Michelle slammed the bedroom door, and together they pushed a large chest of drawers in front of it. She pressed the panic button repeatedly while desperately trying to free Gideon by biting and pulling at his ties with her teeth, chipping a tooth in the process but refusing to stop. After a short time, they secured the trellis gate and hid until security and a large number of police arrived. Michelle and Gideon sustained no physical injuries, thank the Lord, but both are suffering significant emotional and psychological trauma. This incident occurred just as they were beginning to recover from a previous farm attack on Gideon's parents the year before. The couple had to recount the full story in detail multiple times to authorities, recalling additional elements with each telling. The Roos family reports that these connected robberies in the area have not been publicized in the news or elsewhere, and they only learned of the prior incidents from police and security. Their cellphones were stolen, leaving them temporarily unable to receive calls or messages on new devices, though they welcome all prayers and support.

New episode with the incredible former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi - the first woman of color and immigrant to run a Fortune 50 company. In this conversation, Indra discusses the stories behind her rise to the top of one of the world's largest companies. From early days at the Boston Consulting Group using satellite photos to analyze competitor facilities, to personally tracking 400 potential executives as CEO, Indra reveals the granular thinking that separates great leaders from good ones. Her "zoom in, zoom out" philosophy transformed how she understood business — from the "right side of the decimal" where even a fraction of a penny matters across millions of transactions, to setting company strategy at 30,000 feet. She explains why most leaders fail because they don't understand their business at the most granular level. John James Commits to Help Fix Detroit's Poisoned Holes I asked all the leading candidates to come visit Detroit's most toxic demo hole, and only he and Jay DeBoyer showed up By Charlie LeDuff Charlie LeDuff Detroit — It’s the second-most famous hole in the city, and Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield can’t get it filled. The hole is on 25th Street on the city’s west side, where a house once stood. The house had a piano. And on that piano, in that house, Little Stevie Wonder learned to play music. There should be a historical plaque there. Instead, there is a massive open pit of super-contaminated dirt that’s been pooling with rainwater for nearly two months. The house was demolished a few years ago, and the contractor filled it with dirt poisoned with lead at levels so high it puts Flint’s water to shame. Another contractor won a bid of nearly $93,000 to dig up the dirt, dump it at a landfill, and then re-fill the hole with clean dirt. The hole is so contaminated that the contractor wrapped the neighboring home entirely in plastic sheeting. The contractor dug a little bit out, saw a swamp of subterranean water running from some unknown origin, and promptly abandoned the project, leaving his excavator parked on the sidewalk. That’s illegal. The swamp water poured into the cellar of the neighboring home owned by Izellia Smith. Now, Smith’s house is contaminated with lead and the city is going to have to pay her. Smith’s councilwoman Gabriela Santiago-Romero decided to continue with her summer vacation rather than help her beleaguered constituent. Mayor Sheffield has not returned Smith’s phone calls, either. Her Honor continues to hide, caught up in a swirling scandal of graft and sex. A seedy scandal entirely of her own making. One of Sheffield’s former lovers faces federal indictment for poisoning hundreds—if not thousands—of other demolition holes. Sheffield, as a member of city council, voted to award millions in contracts to her lover, Brian McKinney, “while they were getting to know each other”—as her handlers put it. When the relationship was exposed by The Enjoyer, Sheffield’s first instinct was to claim she never voted on her loverboy’s contract. That was a lie. Nothing spells municipal C-O-R-R-U-P-T-I-O-N like a dirt hole that can’t be filled by a mayor who can’t be found. So I called Abdul El-Sayed, the Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate. He used to work at the Detroit Health Department. He claims to be an “expert.” I called three times. Crickets. Too busy with Meet the Press to come out and meet the people of Detroit. I called his Republican opponent Mike Rogers. His people said he’s more than willing to come check out 25th Street. I called Jocelyn Benson, the Democrat candidate for governor, who alleges that she lives in Detroit. Nada. Nothing. No dice. No dirt. Nice handbags. I was going to call her Republican opponent, John James, but he called me first. He’d seen our stories about the Stevie Wonder hole and he wanted to know more. I told him I’d be happy to show his staff around, just as I would with Sheffield’s or El-Sayed’s or Benson’s. Or Rogers’. But his campaign is being run from Washington. It ain’t politics to me. It’s people. To my surprise, James himself showed up on 25th Street last week—without security. I introduced him to Izellia Smith. She talked and he listened. Then he did a TikTok video, naturally. The congressman promised in the short term he’d do what he could to get her situation straightened away. Then James promised that if elected governor, he’d find the money to clean up the entire city, where undoubtedly thousands of holes have been filled with toxic soil under the leadership of Mike Duggan and Mary Sheffield. James called the fiasco another Flint. He’s right. I’m not endorsing anybody. But Detroit will need $200 million—minimum—to clean up this crime scene. Only the federal government has that kind of money. It’d be good to have a governor in Lansing who has decent relationships in Washington. And it’d be good to have a governor who isn’t afraid of Detroit.

Today I sit down with Adam Blake (adamblake), Co-founder and CEO of Mavria. Adam spent a little more than a year leading the DOGE team inside the Department of Energy. He has been a private person for 15 years, and last week he broke his silence with a tweet that got over 2 million views. I have known Adam since 2004. I had just gotten to TCU, and the school paper named him Entrepreneur of the Year for the real estate he was buying around campus. One lunch with him at a Chipotle changed the trajectory of my life. He went on to build a commercial solar company that did around 2,000 projects across 17 states, then sold a software company to Vista Equity Partners. In early 2025 a friend called about DOGE. Within about a week he was on a plane to DC, and two weeks after that he was sitting in the West Wing with Elon Musk and the Secretary of Energy. The executive order that set a goal of three new nuclear reactors going critical by July 4th, 2026 put his team in charge of making it happen. Everyone thought it was impossible. It got done. Along the way he got death threats over an anonymous quote that the chairman of the NRC later denied under oath. Now he is building Mavria with two of the people who were in those rooms with him, backed by a $30M pre-seed from a single investor. His view is simple. AI is power, and America has to build a lot more of it. Davide Asnaghi (Davide Asnaghi) is the co-founder and CEO of Diode Computers, Inc., a Brooklyn-based startup using AI to design and manufacture circuit boards in the United States. Before Diode, Davide worked on Apple’s Special Projects Group and spent time in Hong Kong and Shenzhen studying Asia’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem. That experience convinced him that PCB design, despite powering everything from smartphones and satellites to medical devices and autonomous systems, remained one of the most overlooked layers of the tech stack. Since its founding just two years ago, Diode has landed Physical Intelligence and Saronic as customers and partnered with Anthropic to help Claude become a better electrical engineer. The company’s ultimate ambition: to make hardware as nimble as software. In our conversation, we explore: 1. Why the West outsourced PCB manufacturing to Asia in the 2000s and why bringing it back matters for American competitiveness 2. What Shenzhen’s manufacturing culture does better than Silicon Valley (and what the U.S. can learn from it) 3. How Diode’s models can one-shot much of schematic design and compress hardware timelines from months to weeks 4. The three-week YC pivot that transformed Diode from a design validation tool into a full-stack manufacturer 5. Why circuit boards are the “forgotten middle child” between silicon and software 6. How Diode partners with Anthropic to make LLMs better electrical engineers 7. What it takes to build a hardware company in 2025—and why the talent bar must stay incredibly high 8. How Italian, American, and Chinese cultures shaped Davide’s approach to entrepreneurship and manufacturing Thank you to the partners who make this possible .TECH domains: An identity for builders at their core: Guru_HQ: The AI source of truth for work: Brex: The intelligent finance platform: (0:00) Intro (4:15) Why Davide calls himself a copper merchant (5:53) Diode’s mission to rebuild PCB manufacturing in the U.S. (7:58) What success looks like (9:00) Growing up in northern Italy and spending a year in Minnesota (13:14) Why Italy produces fewer venture-backed founders (15:30) Why Hong Kong accelerated Davide’s learning (19:09) Silicon Valley vs. Shenzhen (22:05) What Davide learned in Apple’s Special Projects Team (24:11) Why Davide left Apple after two years (26:54) Meeting his co-founder, Lenny (29:32) How Davide uncovered the need for better PCB design and manufacturing (33:23) PCB manufacturing in Asia, and Diode’s approach (41:29) The YC pivot that changed Diode’s business (44:39) Inside Diode’s customer journey (48:10) Where the value is in electronics manufacturing, and Davide’s AGI thesis (51:30) What separates a working board from a great one (55:32) Where Diode fits in the electronics stack (59:55) Diode’s early near-death moment and long-term vision (1:02:30) Diode’s exceptionally high bar for hiring (1:04:48) Where Davide gets his best ideas (1:07:00) Final meditations The Generalist

POST OFFICE BANKRUPTED A MAN FOR ASKING FOR HELP 91 TIMES Lee Castleton spent 9 years in the RAF, then worked as a stockbroker in the City. In 2003 he and his wife decided they wanted a slower life for their two young kids. They sold their home and bought a small Post Office branch in Bridlington, on the seafront. Within a year the dream job turned into a nightmare. His accounts started showing losses that made no sense. So he did the responsible thing and called the Horizon helpline. Then he called it again. And again. 91 times in 12 weeks, begging someone to explain where the money was going. Nobody could tell him. The Post Office's answer to being told 91 times that their own system was broken was to audit him, suspend him, and demand he pay back 25,000 pounds he never touched. Castleton had no money left for a lawyer so he represented himself in the High Court, alone, against an organisation with a government sized legal budget. He lost. The Post Office then chased him for 321,000 pounds in legal costs and bankrupted him. That is the reward for reporting a fault 91 times. Bankruptcy. The fallout went well beyond the shop. His kids were bullied at school. His daughter was spat at because people in town assumed her dad was a thief. His wife's health suffered under the strain. All because a computer system got the maths wrong and nobody at the top wanted to admit it. In 2019 Castleton was one of over 550 former postmasters who won a group settlement of 58 million pounds. He personally received 20,000 pounds, a rounding error next to what the case cost him. He was even locked out of a mediation scheme the Post Office ran for people who believed they had been wrongly pursued. Years later former Post Office chief executive Paula Vennells told the Horizon IT Inquiry under oath that Castleton's treatment was unforgivable. She also said she had likely signed off on the 300,000 pound bill that ruined him. Unforgivable is one word for it. There are others. Castleton is now suing the Post Office and Fujitsu UK for up to 8 million pounds, arguing the original 2007 judgment against him was obtained by fraud. In May 2026 the Court of Appeal ruled his case should be heard as one trial instead of being split into pieces designed to bury it in cost and delay. A small win. Nearly two decades late. He wanted a quieter life running a post office by the sea. Instead he became one of the clearest examples of what happens when an institution would rather bankrupt an innocent man than admit its software was broken.
