Jenny Gilruth struggles to answer quite a technical question from Michael Marra: will Scot Gov bonds be issued with a clause giving investors the right to demand repayment in the event of independence, and a credit rating downgrade? The written response will be very interesting…

If they don't then the market won't touch them If they do its an admission independence is potentially fiscally calamitous in the eyes of the market Great work from Marra

Such a feature would be highly unusual in a government bond (more common in corporates). But it’s possible that Scot Gov would have to do this to get the bonds away at an acceptable yield.

There is no way these financial illiterate should be issuing bonds, it is a recipe for disaster and us the taxpayer will once again be left having to fill the black hole.

That could be simplified to “Jenny Gilruth fails to answer a question“ Or even Jenny Gilruth fails.”

Jenny Gilruth would struggle to answer a question on what she had for dinner last night. She is a clueless arse who should be nowhere near the top of government.

@Ardirv51 Until recently when I corrected her, Gobby Gilruth was of the opinion “government bonds” were something that featured in ‘50 Shades of Grey’?

Headless chicken

it's the usual playbook, if in doubt ... I will writye to you, whenever the snp are asked about detail this is the response, they are financially illiterate, always have been.

Is Gilruth on laughing gas? With obligatory reassuring facial expressions (replacement for Sturgeon’s nodding head) read your civil servant notes so fast that people can’t possibly comprehend, and hope everyone is convinced you know what you’re talking about.

You can see her internal panic ... 🤣

Another imposter that should not be there

It's always the detail. Bonds will be essentially underwritten by UK treasury so they aren’t really Scottish. Bit like your parents guaranteeing your mortgage.

@These_Islands Long on grudge, short on detail.

I must have missed the part about the ridiculous, phantom clause you talk about, you chuntering tit!

@These_Islands She should have been able to answer that question there and then. What an utter shambles

Kilts = madness😰

She fits in great with the snp, a fuckin hostile gob shite

I don't know that she struggled to answer, she admitted that pricing was predicated on remaining in the Union and he asked her to report back to committee on how the bonds will be issued and priced. The moot point, as you said, is what clauses will be in those bonds.

Only if they issue the written response, which if they do will be vague and non-committal.

@michaeljmarra is only in second gear but has the measure of @JennyGilruthMSP

She’ll get one of her staffers (who is no doubt often screamed at for very little) to compile an answer using AI while she goes for a three hour lunch, a face like thunder wishing to punch a man, simmering in a weird dysfunctional way.

She's not really happy, is she? 😃

Gilruth struggles to tie the laces on her trainers.

She’s a fool

write

Michael Marra asked quite technical question,🤣🤣🤣

He’s just played a blinder

She’s fuckin clueless- the yestapo’s Angela Rayner, thick as 💩

Junk bonds.
